Join us at Hole Park Estate on Sunday 4th October 2026 for another fantastic Valley Ride!

We're delighted to share that our very generous landowner has granted us permission to explore new countryside routes for this year's October ride. We'll be inspecting the new ground over the next couple of weeks, so keep an eye on the Valley Rides page for updates. 👀

🐎 The Ride

A stunning ride with something for everyone!

✅ Beautiful fields with plenty of opportunities for a canter
✅ Approximately 25-30 optional jumps
✅ Jump heights of 50cm, 66cm and 90cm
✅ Long route: approximately 10 miles
✅ Short route: approximately 5 miles
✅ Suitable for all abilities, including lead rein riders

A special thank you goes to all of our marshals and helpers. We simply couldn’t put on these events without your hard work, dedication, and support.

We’d also like to say a massive thank you to Hole Park for so generously allowing us to ride across their beautiful estate. We’re incredibly grateful for their hospitality.

We hope you all had a wonderful day, and we’re already looking forward to seeing you again on our next ride on 4th October!

Please arrive 30 minutes ahead of your start time & ensure you check in with the secretary & collect your bib number, string is provided for those riders that do not have bibs.

NOTE if you arrive at the start without a bib number you will not be released by the starter.

The course is marked all the way around with arrows, marshals will be in place at road crossings.

Please follow the arrows.

All riders will follow the orange arrows from the start until you come the point on the ride where yellow arrows are introduced, this is the split point for the long and short route,a marshal will be in place at this location to guide all riders on the long or short route.

Riders who wish to do the short route will follow the yellow arrows ,riders on the long route will continue to follow the orange arrows, when you see orange arrows & yellow arrows side by side this is the point when both routes have merged back together for the homeward section of the ride and the ride will be completed under orange arrows to the finish.

Hot food Catering ,ice cream van & the bake barn & toilets will be in the unboxing field.

There are riders of all ages & levels of riding capabilities, some children on lead rein & first-time riders & junior riders who may have parents walking with them, no Dogs on the course & all dogs in the unboxing field must be under control at all times & are not to be left off lead.

There will be photographers at various points on the ride, if you want photos taken going over a certain jump or a group photo please ask the photographer.

(Jumping) Please leave enough space between you & the rider in front when jumping any jumps whether permanent or temporary.

Any followers of riders that want to follow riders around there is a good viewing point at the top of halden lane where the hedges & post and rail jumps are.

There is parking in the field for any followers, please do not park on the main drive road to the estate or block any entry or gates on the estate.

There are circa 28 jumps on the ride ,post and rail p2p brush jumps & some lovely hedges and the headlands have been topped with some fantastic areas to canter & gallop.

If any jumps are damaged then please report to a marshal & the ride team will come and repair it or make it safe.

(All jumps on the ride are totally optional) if your horse refuses a jump after 3 attempts then please move on.

6 FUN RIDE SAFETY TIPS:

Please try not to go thundering past people, good horse & rider etiquette on the ride please at all times.
1) If riding in a group, discuss what pace you’re happy to ride at before you get going. Not everyone likes to gallop.
2) Keep your distance from others and be mindful that they might be riding young or inexperienced horses
3) Always overtake horses slowly, warning other riders that you’re passing and thanking them as you do so.
4) Be willing to miss out the odd jump if there’s a big queue. This will help to prevent a build-up of horses and riders in one area.
5) Ride in company if you can, placing steadier horses on the outside of the group.
6) Stay alert for other riders that might come whizzing past and upset your horse, or set him off after them! .
At the end of the ride please collect your rosette from the secretary if you forget to collect your rosette we will not post them out.

Weather for Rolvenden tomorrow from 9am is partly cloudy with highs of 73.

There will be a cold water bottle station at the hedges on halden lane for all riders, if you need a drink please ask the marshals and the will assist.

Please take all rubbish and droppings home with you.

If you are riding with someone and you have been placed at different start times, this is because there was no note on your entry that you were riding with someone.
If you have 2 different start times, please just ride at the EARLIER time. E.g., if Jon Smith and Harry Jones have been given a start time of 11:10 and 11:40 respectively but are riding together – ride together at 11:10.
