Cramlington Cricket Club Cramlington Cricket Club, est. 2005. 2 Saturday Senior Teams, Academy, Ladies, 2 Midweek & Juniors U9-18s

As our club enters into the 2023 season, it promises to be our biggest one yet. We currently have 2 senior weekend teams, both competing in the Northumberland Cricket League. We also have 2 midweek teams - one competing in the Northumberland Cricket League and the other in the North-East Midweek League. We run a successful ladies team who train on Tuesday evenings. We also host a very impressive j

unior section, ranging from Under 9s to Under 18s for the first time in our history. Junior development and progression has always been at the forefront of our clubs agenda and this has been rewarded by producing many talented young cricketers who currently represent our senior teams. To support our junior teams we have 4 ECB Level 2 Coaches and 6 ECB Level 1 coaches. New players and members are always welcome, ability and experience is not important - we are a very social, friendly club and welcome all backgrounds. 🏏Saturday 2XI Result🏏

Not our finest few hours against Civil Service. We scrambled our way to 89 with the bat. We did stick at it and took 4 wickets though in their chase. A couple of wickets each for youngsters Max & Lewis. Also, a tremendous diving grab behind from GB a highlight of the day.

We take the positives though, 8 of our 11 today all play/played juniors at Cram with 7 of those still u18. All a great learning experience for them!

We finish our campaign next week with the short trip to Bomarsund Welfare Cricket Club🏏

🏏Saturday 2XI Result🏏

We lost the toss and were asked to bat first. Young Moorsy opened the batting and done really well, top scoring with 47.
He was well supported down the card from Jamesy, Marty, Lango and Max. We finished on a very competitive 197 from our 40.

Into the field and we were straight among the wickets. Lango and Steve taking 3 a piece. We wrapped up the game in the 35th over.
We also witnessed one of the best catches seen from Jamesy. Take a bow lad 🙇‍♂️

We are back on home territory next week when we welcome Civil Service🏏

It was a classic tortoise and hare situation as Ben and Syed both retired on 50 not out in the rain abandoned game against Benwell and Walbottle 🏏

Ben took the tortoise approach, trademark slowly, slowly building his innings and steadying the ship. Syed, meanwhile, went full hare mode with a few hefty sixes and some cracking fours!

Well batted, chaps!
