WEEKLY PLANNING IMPORTANCE

“Fail to prepare, prepare to fail”

Whether it’s day to day planning by the hour/ checklists/ meal planning for the big food shop.
Without structure for your week, it WILL be a lot more challenging to teach any goal or even hit a “goal progression checkpoint”.

Sunday evening is where I plan out my week (eg: work classes, playlists, training session aims, review the previous weeks daily do’s (steps, water, snack intake, protein intake6.

SECRET: it ain’t gonna be PERFECT all the time. It’s better to be 80% spot on most the time, than perfect all the time (lasting only 1 week).

Map out your week, month… have a plan of action in place, use that as your guide rope.

Then consistency is key 🔑 ✅

🗣️“F*** it, it’s Christmas”…
The week between Christmas and New Year, is always a weird one, no one knows what day it is.
First of all, my top 3 tips to “stay on track with fitness”…
1. Accept training frequency may decrease for a week, but still able to move on training days
2. Aim to keep up daily movement (N.E.A.T.), to help assist energy expenditure
3. Stay hydrated - foods passed around/ selected may not be the “most nutritious” etc… but keeping your body hydrated will help reduce bloating and keep stomach and foods digested feeling fuller for longer

ULTIMATELY, 1 week = 5% of your Year.
It WILL NOT destroy your progress.
ENJOY your festivities with loved ones. RECHARGE, then REFOCUS (set a “first session back” date) and RESUME!

I hear this most days… “I want to train 6 times a week”
“Great! … BUT is this realistic and attainable?”

As when a fitness professional tailors a training programme, we look at a few factors, training frequency being one.
This could then ultimately lead to your typical training split.

Which is perfect… for what you told us.
But if this frequency is not attainable, this will mean you could be missing out on valuable sessions (eg: potentially your only leg session of the week).

Be SMART & REALISTIC when committing to a plan and maximise your specific results!✅

1lb FAT vs MUSCLE ⚖️

STOP focussing on the scales.
You could be the exact same weight this time next year, but look completely different!
It comes down to body composition. Mainly your Fat to Muscle Ratio ⚖️
But even on your journey, “only losing 1lb” (if it was fat mass)… is ALOT MORE in mass volume than you think.

Sofa or Gym?

Triggers can lead to a healthy or unhealthy choice.
Imagine getting home after work - it’s raining and cold - you want to sit down for 5 mins before you do anything… What are you most likely to do… Get up,ready and go to gym - Or just stick tv on and chill rest of the night?
It comes down to healthy or unhealthy triggers which will then lead onto the outcome.

Triggers to do exercise and activity:
- Limiting your screen time
- Leaving the workplace at lunch and go for a walk
- Go straight to your place of exercise after work
- Have a “workout Buddy”
- Have an indoor activity planned if the weather is bad

Triggers not to do exercise and activity:
- Not having anything active planned
- Stopping at home after work before the proposed gym session
- Bad weather, and then not having an indoor activity option
- Pain/ discomfort when exercising
- Perception that you “don’t have enough time to exercise”… something is better than nothing

It all starts with a PLAN!
