LEMINGTON LADIES 💜🖤 vs NEW FORDLEY VIXENS 💛💙
First game of the season and the usual comedy of errors occurs prior to the game. I mean ... What could possibly go wrong with a 6.30 mid week kick off and a team full of full time working women!!
Who has the kits? Dann?? Nope she has her kit though... It's ok Lauren McLaterson has them 🥴 But fear not!! She's coming with Stoney so will be on time unlike Lauren's normal 8 minutes into the warm up!! Stoney has already
done a recce to double check the venue hasn't changed since last season 🫣
Missy has lost her socks ... And her boots are in the car ... Which is currently in a garage somewhere else 🥴
Oh.. socks found ... And spare boots ... Crisis averted.
Everyone is frantically shovelling pasta in their faces as we bomb down the A1 trying to arrive before KO. And so season 26/27 begins? (Anyone else knackered already??).
We're 60 seconds in and it's over to Danie and Jess to rekindle the playbook of last season with a great cross in from Danie onto Jess to bring us 1 nil up.
Danie assisting again 3 minutes later for Lauren who neatly placed the ball in the back of the net 2-0 great finish!.
14' and Leona dribbles the ball past 2 in the box and hits goal number 3.
20' it's Danie again. Lemington counter attack and a goal that looks set to be saved somehow make the back of the net 1-4. The goal unsettles the rhythm a little and it takes a while to regain composure but at 42' Danie brings us another 1-5...someone is obviously going for top goal scorer this season 👀

The sun is setting so it's a quick break and on to the second half. Sophie takes on several players, strikes the ball but as it bounces off the keeper Danie is there to put it past. 1- 6
Jess follows shortly after and then Danie again 1-8
Somewhere I'm amongst it a rapid right wing run from Lemington allows a brief break off and another goal for the opposition 2-8.
However ... let's not let Danie take all the glory eh? The final 2 goals come from Missy and Sophie who both put in solid shifts.
The game ends pitch black and 2-10. Hopefully the last of the mid week fixtures for us 🙏🏼🙏🏼

MOM: In a very strong team performance which could have led to an even more impressive scoreline, Danie was fantastic during her time on the pitch contributing with 4 goals and 2 assists, terrorising the opposition defence as usual. Well done Danie 👏🏼
