🏆 𝘼𝙒𝘼𝙍𝘿𝙎 𝙉𝙄𝙂𝙃𝙏 🏆

Magheralin Village FC held their annual awards night on Saturday night at The Curious Fox, Edenmore Golf Club. All in attendance enjoyed a brilliant BBQ Buffet before the awards were presented, followed by a great nights craic with the music pumping & coverage of some World Cup games.

A big thank you to Edenmore for kindly hosting us, the food was superb and the all round service was perfect as always!

The club presented outgoing second team manager George Bassett with a gift, thanking him for his efforts of the past few years, especially as second team manager.

Two further gifts were presented to Chelsea McKeown & George Bassett (on behalf of Pauline McDade) for their kind assistance towards the later end of the season, with washing and preparing the 1st and 2nd team kits when the fixtures required a tight turnaround in cleaning.

🎉 The club is delighted to announce the return of the Magheralin Village FC Duck Race on Saturday 1st August (weather dependent) 🌧️

🐤 Ducks can be purchased from all players, club & committee members and also via magheralinvillagefc.com

🎟️ Each Duck is priced at £10 with the prize fund totalling a fantastic £1,200!

👔 𝗖𝗛𝗔𝗜𝗥𝗠𝗔𝗡 𝗣𝗔𝗧𝗧𝗘𝗥𝗦𝗢𝗡 𝗦𝗧𝗘𝗣𝗦 𝗗𝗢𝗪𝗡 ⚽️

On 1st June, the club held its Annual General Meeting and confirmed the committee for the year ahead.

Long serving club Chairman Gary Patterson stepped down after earlier advising the committee of his intention several months ago. The club is pleased to confirm that Gary will remain involved as a committee member and will continue to support the club’s vision for the future. At the same meeting, Ryan Costley was confirmed as the new Chairman.

𝙏𝙝𝙞𝙨 𝙞𝙨 𝙬𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙂𝙖𝙧𝙮 𝙝𝙖𝙙 𝙩𝙤 𝙨𝙖𝙮:
“After 8 very proud years as Chair of Magheralin Village FC, I have decided to step down due to other commitments. It has been an absolute privilege to have been part of this journey, and I would like to personally thank every person who has helped shape the club into what it is today. Huge congratulations to Ryan Costley on becoming the new Chair — I know the club is in great hands and I wish him every success.”

The committee presented Gary with a keepsake and a framed Magheralin Village FC shirt to recognise his time as Chairman.

A thrilling encounter for the 2nds started in the first few minutes when Harvey Joyce was slipped through and finished neatly for 1-0.

The pressure never stopped the whole first half when Joyce was slipped through another 3 times but unfortunately couldn’t convert!

Half Time 1-0

A game mixed with grit and determination from the 2nds allowed for some brilliant play and superb defending!

All game, Left Back Rhys Patterson was as always in the right position and won every ball that came to him!

With just over an hour on the clock, Jake Agnew tip toed past 2 defenders to slot in a second for The Ducks!

A proper performance from everyone on the pitch & goalkeeper Caolan Nation, led to back to back wins for The Village IIs for the first time this season along with a first clean sheet of the season.

Eight years on since we lost Niall, and he remains at the very heart of our club.

Over the weekend, members of the club visited Niall’s resting place to lay a wreath in club colours, remembering our teammate and friend who meant so much to so many.

Though the years pass, the memories, stories, and laughter will never fade.

Always remembered. Always missed.
