Another enjoyable shoot at Greenfields with some excellent scores posted.
Leading the way were Corey McCarron, Shane Haughian, and Greenfields' own Tommy Hillicks, all finishing joint top on 42. Well shot, gents!
Greenfields' Bradley Rea continues his impressive run of form, finishing just one behind on 41, while regulars Geoffrey Glass and Cliffie Porter both recorded solid scores of 40.
The summer evening leagues are clearly paying dividends for the Greenfields shooters, with several members showing great consistency and confidence at present.
The juniors also deserve a mention, with Jake McCarron and Lewis Johnston shooting very well to finish on 37 and 35 respectively. Jake is steadily closing the gap on Corey, while Lewis may just have edged past his dad this time around!
Our next event is the Charity Shoot in 2 weeks featuring the eagerly anticipated Flush, which promises to be another great day.
That's all for now—see you all in a fortnight.

Another cracking shoot with a few big scores posted and plenty of happy faces once the weather dried up! Great turnout once again and some excellent shooting throughout the course.
In the end it was a two-way split at the top, with Nigel Anderson and the in-form Nigel Robinson both finishing on 47! That’s the second time this year the “Nigels” have shared top spot — superb shooting from both gents, especially with a couple of testing birds thrown in there.
Correy McCarron continues his strong run of form with 46, closely followed by Paul Redpath on 45.
For Greenfields, Neil Loughan posted the highest club score with 44, keeping Conal on 43 at bay, bragging rights secure, while Mr T Hillicks continues his impressive consistency with another solid 42.
Thanks for the support as always much appreciated GF’s

Results are in!
A great day’s shooting with some excellent scores on the board:
Neil Farmer – 42 Tommy Hillicks – 41 Jordon Dickson – 41 Phil Shanks – 39
With the evening shoots back underway, it’s clear the extra practice is paying off!
A challenging course in places, with Stand 5 over the water proving a real test — not something many shoots can offer, and it certainly caught a few out.
That’s us now taking a short break — next shoot is on 16th May. Looking forward to seeing everyone back out again then. GF’s

Greenfields Annual Walter Austin Memorial Shield Charity Shoot will take place on Saturday 27th June this year, in support of NI Hospice, Somerton Road, Belfast.

As we all know, we never know when we or our families may need the support of such incredible charities. NI Hospice is a truly worthy cause, and as always, we’ve chosen a charity that has supported a member of the Greenfields club.

We’d really encourage everyone to make the effort to attend on the 27th and support this important event.

There will be three re-entry options available to suit all shooters.

Thank you, as always, for your continued support.

Tough day at the office, folks! Scores took a proper hammering compared to the last shoot — and it definitely wasn’t by design! A lovely mix of wind, rain, and the odd “what was that target doing?” made the course play far trickier than expected… one of those days!
That said, someone had to rise above the rest — and fair play to Nigel Robinson, the only man to crack the 40 mark with a cracking 41 Stand 2 (today’s bogey stand) tried its best to stop him… along with just about everyone else!
Ian Stewart put in a solid 38, with Paul Redpath and A Fields close behind on 37s — good shooting in testing conditions.
Greenfields bragging rights go to Conal Loughan with 33 — clearly making good use of that holiday time, no rust there at all!
That’s us done for a fortnight. Fingers crossed the next shoot brings a bit less “weather” and a few more friendly birds… we’ll see..

Scores are in! A high-scoring day for many, helped along by plenty of sunshine to enjoy it in.

Matthew Dunlop was High Gun today with an excellent 48. Close behind were Gareth Simmons and Jim Burns on 47s, with Greenfields’ Big Merv also posting a strong 47. Just a shot back was Greenfields’ Robbie Carberry on 46 — top shooting, gents.

A few 45s were also recorded, including Greenfields’ Conal Loughan and Jeff Hunter. There were plenty of shooters in the 40s today, and several went round more than once in search of PBs. There was certainly some tight competition among the Greenfields members — and it’s fair to say a few bragging rights were claimed!

That’s it for a fortnight.
See you all then — GFs

Clear, bright day with a cool wind sweeping across the quarry for yesterday’s shoot.
A more technical shoot than in recent weeks, with a bit of thinking required on a couple of stands. The wind certainly played its part on Stand 4 — no time to linger on targets there!
That all said, it was an enjoyable shoot and, as always, many shooters went round twice.
Nigel Anderson came out as yesterday’s top shot, finishing on 44 — well shot Nigel. Next closest were Jordan Dickson on 41 and Greenfields Big Merv also on 41.
Greenfields PJ McAlister and Neil McSherry both finished on 40 — well shot gents, though perhaps no surprise as they did set the course!
Great to see, as always, some families at the shoot yesterday, with a number of juniors attending and several father-and-son contests taking place.
Greenfields Michael Rea had a PB 34, beating Bradley by one — apparently there was a carry-out riding on that one!
Neil and Conal Loughan both finished on a joint 37, and spookily had the same score on each stand.
Ian beat Dad Nigel, though Nigel’s excuse was that he forgot his glasses… or something like that!
Jake gave Corey a run for his money, Corey just edging it on 39. Gibby held Joel, Sam McClelland held Thomas, and regular young shot Lewis Johnston had the bragging rights beating Dad Adrian by one on 34 — he had a smile on his face handing in the cards!
And Jordan held Dad Colin on 41.
So that’s it for a fortnight. Greenfields are finalising the date for our annual charity shoot, with details to follow.
See you in a fortnight — GFs
