Coxhoe Athletic FC Based at Beechfield Park, we are longstanding members of the Wearside League, currently in Division 1 Members of The Wearside League.

Based at Beechfield Park, Coxhoe Athletic enjoys a long standing association with the village of Coxhoe, having been established in 1950. A small but enthusiastic management committee have worked tirelessly to keep the club moving forward and to keep it's profile high both in league terms and as part of the fabric of the village. The new youth team

is our vision for the future. Our aim is to allow the best young players in the area to experience playing their football at our wonderful facility and to give them the opportunity to progress into our first team in years to come.

We start with an opening day defeat to a strong Wolviston side, but in reality it’s a game that could have gone either way. Wolviston started by far the better side, but the hosts took a commanding 2-1 lead into half time. This lasted until the 80th minute when an equaliser came from the set piece. Disaster struck minutes later as the winner also few in from corner, before a 4th in the final seconds. A great advert for the league, and many positives (other than the final 10 minutes!)
