🧡 Wk 24/52 🧡

Another solid week of putting in the work and having a great time doing it.

50 hour working week,
15 hour training week,
4 runs - 38km (including today’s training)
3 strength sessions
2 Hyrox ass kicking sessions
1 massive blood / hormone test day on Monday

Having to rethink and adapt with my new results, which have certainly improved but now come with new challenges.

Training is still going to be on the up,
Miles going up,
Strength going up,
Goal is to be beefy and fast

Into week 25 we go, almost halfway through the year and I don’t intend on slowing down,

This week is going to be MEGA in terms of everything for me and I’m so excited for it!! 😍🙌🏻

A year can make all the difference 🧡

This has been a great year progressing in everything from health, to gym, to my running, to Hyrox

But something I love having,

Is a fast 5K time!

When someone finds out I run, their first question is always “what’s your fastest 5K?”

I want to get back to my old PBs to brag about again, I want to get to 16:40 and say I’m on that top 1% of fast 5K runners,

Made a big dent with getting to Sub 19 and actually feeling like I had more to give as this felt consistent throughout,

Watch this space this summer,

This will be only coming down and down,

Sub 18 next before I’m 29 in August…? 😏😮‍💨

A month of hard graft, personal change, consistency and results.

Been a long month and things have drastically changed in my life.

Taking all that I have learned, all the hard times, good times, everything in between and using it all to change the narrative going forward.

I achieved great things in Hyrox over the bank holiday,

I took that step to go back to the track this summer,

I feel now a lot more me

This month is now in the past,
I done the best I could in the present time,
Now the future is what’s coming,

My main focus is on me,
Life on the track, as well as life away from the track

❤️ WK 20/52 💛

Back to consistency and hard work. Realising strength on another level already

This week I hit 2x 1K Row efforts. 1 at race pace 3:50 and felt so smooth. The next at 3:45 and felt just as smooth! A new race pace is incoming this year 😏

I’ve also a ‘mini peak’ 800m track session to gauge speed. Safe to say, the last 5,6 weeks of track work is starting to feel good for the summer.

Keeping up all my miles, Hyrox work and conditioning.
Running 25km this week (excluding tomorrow’s run) overall.
3 strength session covering compound work in my shoulder press, bench, deadlift and hip thrusts.
1 Hyrox class where it was all about legs’n’lungs, a solid ass whooping to train the legs to push hard under fatigue. Again, safe to say, my Hyrox strength is still in there, I still have strong sleds,lunges and wall balls, they will be a lot stronger for the autumn too.

What it takes to take time off at a high level in such a short amount of time 🔥

Me and Matt did that purely by focusing on run training and changing our transitions/splits in stations from Manchester,

That was all that was different between Manchester and Cardiff in the 4 months,
We were fitter, but more importantly, we were stronger and smarter in our racing!

We took off over a minute in our station work which was already up there with the best,
Then we took our running down from 4:40 average to 4:22, which helped massively from our new station split plan too!

Sub 60 is there,
Big focus on the running side will guarantee that,
Our stations are next level and we’ll be even stronger by the next event

Excited for the 26/27 season to start in October and what it will bring 🔥

I’ve never felt this good, fast and strong 💪🏻

3 epic races in 5 days to cap off a really impressive season!

1:22:56 -> 1:07:20 Open Solo
1:04-> 1:00:23 Open men’s doubles
1:21 Mixed doubles (will achieve my Christmas goal of Sub 1:05 in the new season)

Now we lock in for the summer, track season, already booked in races for the summer as well as the autumn too… 👀 More to be revealed on that later on

But for now, time to put my shirt back on and be more civilised 🤣

Only our second race together! 🔥

We spoke about how we could PB massively today just through tweaks in our transitions and running time,

That’s exactly what we nailed today,
We took off over a minute in our station work (22min)
Then just ran as hard as we could around it
All gas, no breaks, ROXZONE was 2:20 😮‍💨

Couldn’t have done it with Matt, the best partner to complement my own strengths and weaknesses.

Sub 60 in the new season is all but guaranteed for sure! We will run faster to get that!

Now we go to work in the summer and come back even stronger 💪🏻
