The power at smiling at people in the gym, once again paid dividends. I got to chat to a lovely 89 years young gentleman at the gym today. He said how much better he feels and his wife has commented that he is walking better. It’s easy to think that the gym is just full of 20 somethings but a gym in a community has so many more people who all want to be better in some way. It’s not nearly as daunting as people think x

If you’re using your workouts to drive fat loss you’re playing the wrong game. Lifting weights isn’t cardio with dumbbells. It’s your insurance policy for muscle. Fat loss = Nutrition + Daily Movement. Resistance Training = Muscle Retention. Mix them up and you risk losing both strength and shape x

You’re not meant to be dieting endlessly! My clients do a specific phase and we get in, we get it done and then we get out and live our best lives. Very few people can build muscle in a deficit (especially if you are not obese) and no one executing a progressive fat loss phase is living their best life. So, set a goal time NOT A GOAL WEIGHT!!!! It’s a fat loss phase, not a weight loss phase, BIG DIFFERENCE! 12-14 weeks if you are adherent! Don’t jeopardise your health by staying there for months on end and not achieving the goal x

Honestly, more people would see way better results from their efforts in the gym if they nail these 2 aspects!!! How do you know though? You get a coach who does. You submit videos for feedback over and over until you nail ex*****on and intensity 💪💪

I’ve talked to my clients about this. A huge part of what I do with my clients is help them to get the right intensity in their workouts (not leaving 3-4 reps in the tank 😳) and their exercise ex*****on. Neither of these can be done by AI, yet! When AI can assess that you are not pushing close enough to failure and correct your form, then it will be up to an individual to decide whether they want AI or a coach. For now, my clients are coached on having excellent technique and working like a badass 👊 Programming workouts is the teeniest and easiest part of coaching, the stuff above is what makes a good coach x
