WHAT WE’VE ALL BEEN WAITING FOR… MATCH WEEK IS HERE!

The wait is over. The 2026/27 season is finally here, with both teams kicking off their campaigns this weekend.

FIRST TEAM

The first team head to the Molehill to take on freshly promoted Binstead.

It’s always been a competitive fixture against Binstead, particularly at their ground, where the pitch has a reputation for causing problems for visiting sides.

After a strong pre-season and plenty of hard work from the lads, it’s now time to put it all together and start the campaign strongly.

RESERVES

After a year away, the reserves are back in Combi 2.

Joel and Ollie take charge of their first competitive game as they travel to St Helens to face Brading Town A.

It will be a good early test for the new squad and the perfect opportunity to show what this group can bring this season. The boys will be looking to start their return to island football with all three points.

Both kick offs are this Saturday at 2:00PM

Come and support the boys as we get the new season underway.

PRE-SEASON UPDATE

A few pre-season results to catch up on for Northwood.

Last weekend, both teams faced Brading Town Football Club in a double header, with unfortunately both sides ending up on the losing side. However, it was once again great to see two full squads being selected and plenty of players getting valuable minutes under their belts.

Last night, the reserves faced Shanklin reserves and put in a very promising performance, coming away with a 1–4 victory. Roly bagged himself a hat trick, with Steve Bennett also getting on the scoresheet.

A great way for the Reserves to round off their pre-season and head into the new season.

Tonight, it’s the first teams’s turn as they travel to West Wight Football Club for their final game of pre-season.

Kick-off: 7:00pm

One final run out before the season starts - come and support the lads. If you need a sit, Luke Flux can offer his.

Another friendly under the belt for our Reserves in the week. They played Sandown & Lake Football Club Reserves on Wednesday and got a good 3-1 win but more importantly another opportunity for the boys to get minutes under their belts. Laner, Lewis Baker, and Issac all getting on the score sheet.

Both teams are in action tomorrow for a double header against Brading Town Football Club.

Cheeky Returns 💛🖤

We’re buzzing to announce that James Cheek has returned to Northwood for the 2026/27 season!

After joining us in 2024/25, Cheeky quickly became a key player in the squad, putting in shifts both in the middle of the park and up top. His performances earned him the Manager’s Player of the Season award.

After deciding to move on for the 2025/26 season to play alongside his mates, Cheeky has now made the decision to return to North — and we couldn’t be happier to have him back!

In the blistering August heat, Bembridge came out on top this time today in the reverse fixture from earlier in pre-season.

With availability low, Maybe the lads were all off at the Garlic Festival or still recovering from the eclipse! However opportunities were given to a number of players to step up, test themselves and gain valuable minutes in what proved to be a difficult game.

Some more updates will follow about some off our new exciting young lads 👏🏽

Despite the result, there were plenty of positives to take as we continue to build, develop and strengthen the squad.

And there’s more exciting news on the way as this squad continues to grow and improve…

The boys have continued their pre-season preparations over the past week, with three games played across both teams.

Both sides got a good run out against WAB last weekend. While WAB came away with convincing wins, it was great to see the number of lads available and getting minutes against strong opposition at this stage of pre-season.

We then had one side back in action midweek against Vics Reserves, where Arth and Geo both got themselves on the scoresheet. Another positive night of getting minutes into the tank and, importantly, seeing some new faces getting involved with the squad.

A big thanks to WAB and Vics Reserves for the games.We wish both clubs all the best for the upcoming season!

We’re buzzing to announce that Mark Taylor has signed for Northwood!

Mark joins us with plenty of Wessex League experience, as well as being well known around Island football.

A true bagsman, with plenty of goals in his locker. We know what to expect with Mark and causing trouble for any defender.
