With the season being concluded, gaffa Mark Allen wants to share some honest words with the players, fans and the community on the back of a difficult but progressive season;

“Start of the season we started on the back foot with players leaving and having to fold the reserves and having taken 3 heavy defeats in our first 3 games.
We rebuilt and focused on getting a consistent team week in week out. As the season has gone on the boys have worked hard to keep Northwood in Division 1 and compete in many games showing some good football. Of course there is still work to be done but the boys stood by the club and their efforts and hard worked paid off, which I can’t fault and very appreciative of all of them. Next season we continue to move forward with pitch upgrades, new kit, and the reserves returning. To continue the rebuild and I said at the Start of the season players who want to play for Northwood will play for Northwood.”

We want to thank all the boys who had helped the club stay in Division 1, but also to everyone behind the scenes and to Mark who been committed to this project and is keen to continue building this club! There will be further updates and posts coming! 👀

Hopefully Mark gets a bigger shirt for him next time!

RESULT:

Unfortunately the boys weren’t able to finish with 3 points after a hard season, but congrats to West Wight Football Club who scored 4 against us, with Lewis Blackmore getting a consolation goal for North.

It was always expected to be a tough season with a lot of changes happening around the club, but there was a group of lads who stuck around and united to ensure the club stayed in Division 1. They were able to achieve that, and is something all the players should be proud of. This is now something to work on💪🏼.

The gaffa, Mark has said a few words on the back of this seaaon;

Presentation night will be over the coming weeks, for the lads to sink some skittle bombs and bully eachother. Information on Pre-season will be announced later on.

Final game of season! Northwood will travel to Camp hill to face West Wight Football Club. The boys come on the back of a 7-1 defeat to WAB last weekend, and are looking to finish a high!

Northwood will be playing their penultimate game of the season today agaisnt WAB! Kick off is at 14:00 at Sandy Lane! Come and cheer the lads on!

TRAINING:

Northwood will be training on Tuesday at up the Plessy Club (Cowes Community Club) at 6:15PM.

Everyone is welcome to come and see if they can beat Hambo at the Bleep test, or who can chug more beers after.

The lads will then be away to WAB on Saturday for our penultimate game of the season!

RESULT:

High Park secured the 3 points on Saturday by beating the lads 3 - 0. With only a couple of games left, the boys are looking to end on a positive.

TRAINING: Training will be Tuesday at the PLESSY CLUB, from 6:15. So anyone is welcome to join in and then stay for a beer while watching England.

Last weekend the boys suffered a 1-3 defeat to Bembridge & Vectis FC - with Lewis Blackmore getting on the scoresheet.

This weekend North will be facing High Park at Wootton Rec. Kick off will be 13:30, so get up and support the boys.

WEEKEND GAME:

The boys face Bembridge & Vectis FC for the consecutive time, but this game will be played up the Plessy club. Come and show your support for the lads.

With no fixture this weekend, a huge shoutout to Luke Flux and Char Butt who have been grafting away getting the goal netting started behind the goal.

Hopefully this helps stop Incey from losing a handful of our balls every week… although its probably still not high enough.

Great work from the lads putting in the effort off the pitch for the club.

⚽ Northwood St John’s – Youth Football Interest ⚽

We’re exploring the possibility of developing a Youth Section at Northwood St John’s, and we want to hear from the local community.

Our aim is to create opportunities for young players to get involved in football, develop their skills, enjoy the game, and be part of a friendly local club environment.

At this stage, we’re simply gauging interest to see what opportunities might be out there. This could include:
• Local children interested in playing
• Parents who would like their kids involved in a team
• Existing youth teams who might be interested in linking up with the club
• Volunteers or coaches who would like to help support youth football

If this sounds like something you’d be interested in, please comment below or send us or Mark Allen a message with:
• Your child’s age group
• Whether they currently play football
• Or if you’re part of a team looking for a club home

Let’s see if we can build something great for the next generation of footballers in our community. 💛🖤

RESULT:

The boys were unable to get a result out at Bembridge, but they gave a good fight with Connor Mooney getting on the Scoresheet. But Bembridge & Vectis FC ended up taking all 3 points.

Northwood only have 4 games left this season, so make sure you come and support the lads when you can!

This Saturday the boys are looking to bounce back from the previous game. They will be away to Bembridge & Vectis FC at Steyne Park.
