🔵⚪️ A Strong Start at Home ends in a deserved draw 🔵⚪️
Our first home game of the season saw us welcome a strong Abronhill United 2015’s squad to the Falkirk Stadium. With the sun shining and the lads ready for another good test, it was all set for a great morning of football.

From the first whistle, the lads took control of the game, moving the ball quickly and showing some excellent attacking football, particularly through our wing play.
Our early pressure was rewarded when Caleb found the back of the net with a cracking finish, following a great assist from Declan, who did brilliantly down the right wing. 🔥
We continued to control the game and created some excellent opportunities to extend our lead. As the half progressed, however, Abronhill grew into the game and finished the first half strongly.
It took some fantastic saves and strong defensive performances to keep them at bay, but the lads stood firm and went into the half-time break with a deserved lead.
The second half followed a similar pattern. We started strongly again and created a couple of great opportunities to add to our advantage. Once again, Abronhill showed their quality and gradually grew into the game before finding the equaliser.
From there, it took some excellent defending to keep the score level. We continued to create opportunities ourselves, but neither side could find the winning goal, with the game eventually ending in a well-deserved draw.
📈 Another Step Forward
The lads have been working incredibly hard in training, and you can really see them getting to grips with the 9-a-side format now.
The work we’ve been putting into shape, movement and transitions is really starting to show in games, and this squad is improving week after week.
It’s fantastic to see their progress and, more importantly, the way they are developing as a team. We couldn’t be prouder of them! 👏🔵⚪️
🧢 Captain of the Week — Max McNaughton, sponsored by Three Little Pigs
This week’s captain was Max McNaughton, sponsored by and he put in a real captain’s performance at the back.
Max was defensively sound throughout the game and even managed to join the attack and get a shot away! His leadership has been evident all week in training, and it’s brilliant to see him continuing to settle into the squad after joining us over the summer.
A superb performance from Max, leading by example once again.

🏆 Player of the Day — Lewis Robertson, sponsored by Osborne’s Gents Grooming.
Player of the Day went to Lewis Robertson following a fantastic all-round performance.
Lewis was unlucky not to grab himself a goal or two, but his contribution went far beyond what he did with the ball.
He was extremely intelligent in possession and equally smart without it, making some excellent runs to pull defenders and midfielders out of position and create space for our defenders to break out.
His communication was also on point throughout the game, making him a real influence on the pitch.
A fantastic performance from Lewis — well deserved!

🏆 Opposition Player of the Day — Elliot Knox, sponsored by Daniel Newbigging - Player Development Programme
Our Opposition Player of the Day was Elliot Knox — and wow, what a performance from EL!
He simply never stopped running. Elliot put in some fantastic tackles, worked tirelessly defensively and wasn’t afraid to get involved in our attacks either, getting a few shots away and playing some cracking through balls into the attacking areas.
EL has transitioned into the defensive unit amazingly well, and it’s been fantastic to watch him work so hard and continue to improve every single training session and every game.
His attitude and effort have been brilliant.
Well done, EL! 👏🏆
🤝 A Great Game of Football
All in all, it was a fantastic game of football — played in the right spirit and the right way.
A huge thank you to Abronhill and Coach Derek for a great game. It was a pleasure to welcome you guys and we wish you all the very best for the rest of the season. You are a cracking group and we’re sure you’ll smash it! 🤝👏
It’s straight back to work for us on Monday as we continue to build on the progress we’ve made, particularly over the past few weeks.
Next Saturday, we welcome another cracking squad in Lenzie to the Falkirk Stadium. We can’t wait! ⚽️
Well done to every single one of the lads yesterday. We couldn’t be prouder of each and every one of you.
