My road legal track bike explained-
I picked up a clean/low mileage 15 year old kawasaki zx6r,
Immediately changed the oil for Motul 3000V
Found the suspension was lacking and worn out so serviced it but then decided to swap the fork cartridges and rear shock for nitron.
New front discs and pads with a fluid change.
Swapped tyres for pirelli supercorsa sc2 rear sc1 front and sourced a spare set of wheels with rain tyres. (Need a 3rd new rear now š)
She already had an akrapovic full system, k&n and the throttle is crisp enough to suggest she's been remapped.
Replaced the battery for a lithium ion race battery
Total money I'm into it isnt far off the price of a stock 2025 bike, which is alot for a 2010 Japanese 600 but not alot for what is essentially a competitive race machine with an MOT.
(In hindsight it would of been cheaper to have bought an ex race bike and convert it for the road š ) so far she's done 3 days at portimao, oulton park, Donnington park, silverstone, castlecoombe and pembrey. WHAT A MACHINE!
