varsity 2026
Had a real fun day out competing in powerlifting again, was nice to be back on the platform.
Weighed in at 81.7 kg on the day, lightest Iāve been since 2019.
Squats went very well.
197.5 kg | 207.5 kg | 217.5 kg
Feels like there was a little bit more left in the tank there, should be able to push the BW PRs in the future.
F**k bench, stupid lift, donāt know why anyone bothers.
Jokes aside, not being able to shift 125 kg shocked me, thought it was in the bag.
But I think I got too cocky on the day, elbow, shoulder, warm-ups and opener felt great so I just went for it, only to get buried. Leave your egos at the door people.
Deadlifts were by far my favourite, the stars really aligned for them.
220 kg | 235 kg | 250 kg
Finishing up with a 582.5 kg total (scraping the BUCs QT).
Last time I pulled 250 kg I was ~84 kg, and this time around it moved way better, again feel like I can push these up at this lighter bodyweight too.
Overall, this prep was really fun, tried not to take things too seriously and really just tried to enjoy training and competing on the day.
Also, balanced this with running and some elbow and shoulder issues and think this may have been the most level headed prep Iāve done, a testament of how Iāve, somewhat, matured over the years.
Massive thanks to , and who put this all together, for hosting, for handling me and everyone who was there supporting too, legends.
