An excellent weekend was had by all at Old Joe ⛵️

Saturday started off fairly windy. Some early teething issues arose, including an early 3v2 loss, a shallow pontoon and incredible amounts of reeds.

Saturday’s entertainment peaked during the third race, when the pres and Marcus went for a swim following a precarious jibe round the bottom mark.

At that point both did what any good leader does… and gave up for the day. We borrowed one Tom to take over, whilst we waited for our Tom to emerge from his hangover. The day ended on a lovely 2 wins.

Saturday night consisted of many beers + slightly undercooked burgers… and in Marcus’ case several regurgitations of said burger. Latterly he learnt how to use a tent incorrectly (per slide 6)

Sunday was spent deathly hungover and with the impending realisation exam season was far from complete.

UWSWC will be proudly supporting The Esther Project over the 26/27 year! 💙🩷

This is very much a pilot initiative for the club, but for the next year the committee will be leading fundraising initiatives. The link to donate can be found in the UWSWC’s bio.

The first event is to be announced this week.

Exec challenges will correspond to fundraising milestones. Watch out for that post and should give you all the more reason to donate to this local charity!
