Warwick Latin and Ballroom Dancesport welcome you to their annual Warwick Varsity competition on Saturday 20th November!

The competition is being held on campus in the Sports Hub Arena for the first time and so we would love to have lots of Warwick supporters attending the event.

Dancing starts at 10am and will continue until around 6-7pm so you are welcome to come along at any time to spectate, experience the glitz and glamour, and see what Latin and Ballroom is really about! Warwick does Strictly 2021 is still on, hosted by Warwick Latin and Ballroom! Make sure to check out their event page and tune in on Friday 19th March for what is sure to be a brilliant night of dancing and competition all for charity ❤️🖤

Warwick Latin and Ballroom are proud to announce that we are going ahead with our annual ✨ Strictly ✨ competition!

We are streaming our main show online from our YouTube channel (Warwick Latin & Ballroom Official), going live at 7pm on Friday, 19th of March!

Our follow up results show will kick off at 7pm on Sunday, 21st of March!

Seven couples will battle it our for the chance to win the coveted Glitterball Trophy! All of our couples are either housemates who are bubbled together (in the case of our ballroom dancers) or dancing socially distanced routines (in the case of our latin and speciality dancers).

We are excited to have special performances from our own society members, as well as special guests Warwick Classical & Modern Dance Society (), Musical Theatre Warwick () and Warwick Big Band ()!

We are raising money for YoungMinds () , a mental health charity focused on helping children and young people.

Over the next month, 9 clubs are taking part in an Anti-Racism Relay to raise money for Blueprint for All.

The relay challenge will involve each club having 3 days to complete an activity connected to the number 634. This number repeated by each club will equal the number of racially motivated crimes that occurred in a month in 2019/20.

Since the beginning of Term 1, Warwick Canoe and Warwick Canoe Polo have been running weekly wellbeing 'Dinnertime Destress' sessions on Teams at 7pm on Mondays. We know the strange times we’re living in can be overwhelming, so each week the clubs meet for a sociable de-stress – dedicating time in the day for self-care.

Each week has a different theme, from origami to meditation. Tonight's (week 6) theme is ‘cute animals’ as what better way to relax than with a (virtual) furry friend. Week 7 will be a baking activity – so not only will you feel de-stressed, but you’ll be left with a sweet treat by the end!!

We've got a really exciting event happening tomorrow from 6-7pm: a Q+A with Paralympian Sam Ruddock.

Sam has excelled in a range of sports, from American Football to cycling so there's something for everyone!

For our last of 2020 we hear from University of Warwick Tennis Club.

It's important to reach out to people, so they know the offer to talk is there, but it's also really key to know that (most of us) aren't trained professionals and we aren't going fix every problem. Someone might not want to talk to you, but it's good to check that they are getting support elsewhere.If you watch through to the end, Will makes a really important point that we need to look after ourselves before we can help other people.

I hope everyone is able to get a chance to re-charge over these Christmas holidays after an *intense* year. See you in 2021!! 🎄❤️
