Whether you have a passion for ice skating, or a budding interest, Warwick Ice Skating is the club for you, catering to all skill levels, including those who have never skated before. The club hosts a General Skate session every week on Mondays at 20:30-22:30 and on Wednesdays at 13:00-16:00, where members have access to discounted entry to the rink. To attend these sessions, members need to purch
ase Ice Cards from the rink through the Planet Ice website - these cost £10/year and permit the discounted entry. During these sessions, club members may take part in ice skating lessons for beginner, intermediate and advanced level skaters. These lessons are discounted through the club and taught in groups by professional, qualified coaches. Our members are very friendly, and most will be happy to teach you tips and tricks on the ice! At the start of terms 1 and 2, we will also hold taster skating sessions for both current and prospective members. Those new to ice hockey can join the Development Team, who train on Mondays at 22:45 (no equipment or previous experience is needed). More experienced players can join the Warwick & Coventry Panthers Team, who train on Wednesdays at 22:45 team, where full ice hockey equipment will be required to participate. The Warwick & Coventry Panthers is comprised of students from both universities. For more information on the ice hockey team, join our Facebook Group. The rink where our skating sessions take place is located at the Skydome in Coventry and is called Planet Ice. Going from campus takes approximately 15-20 minutes by bus and the facility offers a safe and friendly atmosphere for skaters. We also aim to hold a variety of socials throughout the year, including both drinking and non-drinking based activities.
