On Saturday 16th May, Coventry Golf Club made history come alive!

Fifty years on we gathered to honour the legends who played our fairways, and the memories of those who were there to witness it.

Honouring Sam Torrance OBE, Sir Nick Faldo and Seve Ballesteros, who played in the Piccadilly Tournament in 1976, members took part in our first Legends Competition. Our refurbished 12th signature hole was dedicated to Legends, past and future and the Board unveiled a wonderful, commemorative piece of artwork at the 1st tee. Both projects were made possible by generous donations from members.

A huge and heartfelt thank you to the legendary Sam Torrance OBE for his wonderful personal video message; it stopped the room and meant the world to everyone present. The great Gary Player also reminded us all why the game of golf is so special.

Thank you to every member who shared their memories, to everyone who competed and attended, and to all those who worked tirelessly behind the scenes to make this event what it was.
