Taking a GLP-1 and losing weight?
Don’t forget to look after your MUSCLES! 💪
We all want the weight to come off — but we don’t want to lose precious muscle along the way. Which can happen, oh so easily.
When you’re losing weight, resistance and strength exercise are really important for helping to maintain muscle mass and reduce the risk of sarcopenia. It can also lead to bone density deterioration as you're not loading your bones (Google Wolff's Law), which can lead to osteopenia and osteoporosis. You need to load your bones for your muscles AND your skeleton.
See how my two hats fit together here? PILATES AND BONE HEALTH.
And here’s the good news…
You don’t need a special “GLP-1 exercise class”! 🙌
One of my normal Pilates mat classes, working against your own bodyweight is exactly what you need.
I will work your muscles, challenge your strength, improve balance and stability, and keep your body moving well — all without needing to jump around or lift huge weights.
Over the past year I have worked with many people who have successfully lost weight (and maintained) using these and so I know exactly what is needed. Low-impact, resistance work, working against your ownbodyweight. I know what I'm on about!
So if you’re taking a GLP-1, keep your Pilates in the mix! ❤️
Your body needs to lose fat — not strength.
Classes Tuesdays and Thursdays 6.30-7.30pm and
Fridays 10.00-11.00
