Last but not least, me!!

It’s an honour for me to present Tarini Jayawarna as our brand new Publicity Officer 😍😍

Her VERY regular attendance at socials (despite often being worst dressed xx) and her Most Improved title at awards are just a few of the reasons why we all love her loads. 🥰

If her performance in this role is anything like her performance at adoptions (hopefully minus the grass, Anaisha’s hallway and the sink this time 🫪), then I’m sure Helen will be proud of her daughter as she inherits ALL the social media passwords.

And if she’s not busy in a Smack queue, she’ll be keeping the accounts updated with all the amazing stuff we have planned this year! 👀

Migi is up next as our club’s leading woman, our President! 🏏👑

Her advice for freshers is to get involved in as many society events as possible, as it will shape your uni experience - I heavily agree!!

Our trainings themselves vary quite a bit, especially with all the unusual warm-ups Migi and Orla had us doing last year. Migi’s favourite memory is by far our Term 2, Week 10 training session, where a rather concerning jump-and-slide competition took place involving CRASH MATS?? 🥴

Her cricketing knowledge is expansive, taking inspiration from some great idols, Pat Cummins (Patty C) and Lauren Bell. Some may disagree, but she believes that a ball pitching outside leg stump should NOT stop a batter from being given out LBW. 😤

I can assure you, the club is in great hands with Migi as our Pres. 💪

Our Vice President for the new year will be none other than … Orla😍

Orla has brought SO much to the club and is treasured as one of our most humorous members, as proven by her winning Sports Personality of the Year 2025-26 🏆 Her unique yet surprisingly effective bowling action and VERY unpopular opinion that red milk is elite are just a few of the reasons why she never fails to stand out.

Keeping close to her Kent roots, she loves nothing more than watching Zak Crawley smash 6s and hopes to catch one from the stands one day, although considering the number of fielding drills she’s made us do, you’d think she’d have caught one by now.

Now she’ll be VP-ing UOWWCC, so we’re all in very safe hands… hopefully. 🤨

Emma will be your new First XI Captain! 🏏

With her vast experience captaining teams in the past, she’s more than ready to take on TeamWarwick 💪

Her competitive spirit is unmatched, but it did lead to one of her most embarrassing moments: trying to run someone out when they’d already been given out LBW, while shouting “yeah, yeah, yeah” for the ball as the rest of the team celebrated. 🥴

We love celebrating our members’ defining moments here at UOWWCC, so we simply had to mention her incredible achievement of a 22-ball duck - truly hard to beat. 🦆 Not only does she fumble on the pitch, but ALSO at circle games where she definitely seems to struggle keeping up.

Her favourite UOWWCC memory has to be adoptions, where she LOVED being dressed head-to-toe in bright orange. 🧡

Captaining the first team and running our training sessions will be a breeze for her, but let’s hope she doesn’t have us catching a breeze doing laps at the start of every session. 💨

One scared Gabi is up as our next club captain. 😳

Taking after her favourite cricketer, Amy Jones, she’d like to bring the fire to the pitch, both in training and matches. 🔥

Her most humbling moment of first year has to be doing the worm into Orla during Sport Relief rehearsal, where she also unleashed her secret talent for plaiting hair, with a long line of us waiting to get ours done by the best. 💃🏻

Playing in every BUCS match over the summer has given her a good tint of colour, and she would like to formally declare that keepers should be able to wear short sleeves (her arms deserve tanning time too). ☀️

Her favourite UOWWCC moment has to be the iconic group Pat Cummins circle costume. 👯‍♀️

Taking over training sessions and hoping to keep them fun and rewarding, she’s ready to see what the new year brings to the club!! 🏏

ABCDEF… G is taking over our socials and I cannot wait 😍

She has PLENTY in store for us this year and has one very important message for all freshers: COME TO CIRCLES. 😆

Unfortunately, her favourite memory from UOWWCC is me (Tarini) at adoptions, although I would beg to differ as it sure isn’t in MY memory… 🫪 She is proud to say that she has a louder clap than Orla and her obvious general loudness will be much appreciated in the middle of circle!! 📣

The only piece of cricket she’s ever watched are Tilak Varma edits on her fyp and we all know she loves a brown boy. 😉

Contrary to popular belief, she thinks Kasbah sucks AND that carrots belong with chocolate?? 🤨

Get ready for a year of questionable circle fits, questionable food combinations and (hopefully) some great socials!

There’s never a dull moment with Kushi around, and I’m sure she’ll do an amazing job taking on the role of Club Secretary! 🫡

Her favourite memory has to be Sports Ball, closely followed by a very close second: initiations, where she lost her phone… as well as some of her recollection of events. 📱🥴

Committed to bringing bananas everywhere she goes, this girl never fails to come up with some questionable food choices- cucumbers and ketchup being one particularly concerning example. 🤢🍌

Although heavily contested, Kushi firmly believes she has the best technique when it comes to running between the wickets. 😬 We’ll let you decide…

Her advice to freshers is to talk to EVERYONE and if not everyone, at least her, because she always has plenty to say! 😛

Running things behind the scenes, Kushi will be taking charge of ordering our kit and sorting sponsorships this year, so please get in touch with her about either of those 👆

Our Charities & Welfare Officer will be Pippa! 🎗️

Although needing a little welfare support herself after getting quite ☹️ emotional at adoptions, Pippa will be there to sort out any issues you’re having, especially if it means a good yap for her.

Her extensive dance experience will hopefully come in handy, with the CMD Dance Show for Sport Relief coming up not too long after we start the year. We’re expecting some TOP-TIER choreography, so no pressure Pippa!! 💃

Kasbah Monday with Cricket was one of her favourite memories from first year, and her advice for freshers is simple: TRY EVERYTHING!! 👀

She has plenty in store for charity events and welfare sessions she wants to run and can’t wait to execute them in the new year!!

No one spends more of their own money on circle fits than our Tour Secretary, the one and only Amelie. 🎭

Having only picked up cricket at uni, she’s making some seriously impressive progress… although I’m slightly convinced she joined primarily for the socials 👀

Her finest moment has to be the time her flat caught fire MID-CIRCLE, leaving her stuck as Adam Sandler for a solid 36 hours. Commitment to the costume was truly unmatched. 🔥

Amelie may or may not have been asked whether she’s a fresher or a postgrad during her FIRST year - a truly humbling moment. 👵 She also has a rather unfortunate secret talent for getting ducks but I’m sure she’ll be getting more runs next season🤞

Fun fact: she was born in Luxemburg and hopes to bring her travel experience to the role. ✈️ She’s got exciting plans for tour so stay tuned for the big announcement of where we’re heading this year 🌎❓
