Important grading information for Saturday 23rd March

Time slots are as follows - please arrive 10 minutes before your time slot and wait outside an instructor will come and let you in

12.30pm White belts this includes students who have a white belt with a coloured stripe ( except yellow stripes)

1.15pm yellow stripes/ yellow belts / yellow belts with a green stripe

2.00pm green belts and blue stripes

2.45pm blue belts and above

We've got some exciting updates for you! Our team has been working hard to ensure this Sunday's event is seamless and memorable. Here's what you need to know:

- 8:00 AM: Doors Open for Registration
- 9:00 AM: Black Belt Showdown Begins
- 9:40 AM: Colour Belt Team Tul (Ages 7-13)
- 10:45 AM: Kids Colour Belt Face-Off

- 3:00 PM: Adult Colour Belt Competition
- 4:00 PM: Junior/Adult Colour Belt Team Tul (Ages 14+)

We welcome you all to the ITFU British Championship 2023 and hope that you all have an amazing time.

Please find below all information relating to our event and our event schedule.

Venue Address: Chase Leisure Centre and Golf Course, Stafford Rd, Cannock, WS11 4AL

Weigh-ins will take place the day before (Saturday) at the main venue between 3:00-4:30pm, as well as on the day. Additional weigh-in will take place the day before at TST UK Taekwon-Do Academy (CV6 1GP) between 6:00-7:00pm:

On Sunday, doors open and weigh ins will start at 8.15am prompt for Blackbelt competitors with all Blackbelt events starting at 9:00am.

There is a spectator's fee of £5/person (free for under 5's) payable at the door. Cash only please.

We request that all Colour Belts arrive prompt at 11:00am for height checks and weigh-ins. All Colour Belt events will start at 12:00pm.

Please do not turn up late as once categories start, we will not allow late comers to join.

Patterns: All Colour Belts will be optional pattern including the final. All Black Belts will be optional pattern up to final, with final having both optional & designated pattern. (Designated pattern will be one below the lowest grade, i.e., 1st Dan & 2nd Dan competing, designated will be up to Choong-Moo)

Sparring: 1 point for punch to the body/head. 2 points for kick to the body. 3 points for kick to the head. 1 point will be added if the technique is a flying technique. 4 punch rule is in place therefore a player must disengage or throw a kick, if this rule is not followed by the player, warnings will be issued.

Equipment Checklist: Approved gloves (open palm/closed fingers) and boots (Macho, Gran Marc, Top Ten or similar). **No Boxing Gloves will be permitted.
Male Groin protector (Mandatory).
Shin guards (Optional up to 13 years old / Mandatory for Junior, Adults and Seniors).
Mouth Guard (Mandatory for All).
Headguard (Mandatory up to 13 years old and for all Colour Belts / Optional for Black Belts Junior, Adults and Seniors).
Female Breast protector (Optional).

Special Technique: Depending on age group, participants will showcase their prowess in:
Under 13s: Flying side kick
14 and above: Flying high kick

Breaking (18+ only): Adult participants will have the opportunity to demonstrate their power and technique by breaking boards. The following breaks will be judged: Side Kick, Knife-Hand Strike, Turning Kick, Forward Punch (Male) / Palm Strike (Female), Reverse Turning Kick.

Please advised that there is no café on Site. There will be a tuck shop being run by some of the England Team parents, and the sports centre has vending machines available. Otherwise, please make sure that you bring refreshments and food.
