And finally the last from todays adventure.
After the 5 hour pretend match I spent 2.5 hours fishing on a 13ft traditional waggler rod . With 4lb mainline down to 3.6lb 12 inch hooklength with size 16 drennan wide gap hook. Fished slightly over depth with double red maggot being the bait of choice.
A totally different approach from this morning when I was on a window feeder and flatbed method feeders. And it yielded a good result.

I’m not even sure how many Crucian they was. But I’ve definitely found a bait they like. And it attracted a better stamp some nearly 2lb in weight

So today was all about seeing how I would handle a five hour match. What decision I’d make , how I’d go about fishing the peg and what methods I’d us . Formulating a baiting plan and seeing it though. Being prepared to make the changes when and if needed.basically trying to do what a proper match angler would do.
I think it went ok, I completed the five hours of the pretend match.
I must of caught 50lb In weight split between two keepnets , maybe a little more.
I put Bronze Bream and 2 Tench in one net and the other was the Crucians. . I must say I really enjoyed the process

Happy Wednesday .
So today I’m having a practice on Horseshoe for my first match on Saturday 26th. Im fishing 8.30-1.30 a 5 hour period like a real match .a little earlier than they normally start .After the 5 hours I will see what I’ve caught . And also have more ideas what tactics work and what doesn’t.

Not exactly what I was intending to catch on a traditional 13ft waggler rod 3lb main line and double red maggot . This one took me over 30 mins to get in . God knows how I fit it in my net got to be a 20
