I have been teaching for 41 years and still love it as much as I did when I first started
Over the years I have taught numerous fitness disciplines , but now I mainly teach Pilates and Dancefit. I also run Young at Heart which is aimed at those over 70. We are all living longer and we all know the benefits of regular exercise. I have many clients in their 80s and two in their 90s, who regularly attend my classes. They have all seen huge health benefits by coming to my classes. Some seem to have more energy than those in their 40s!
As well as the classes, it is a social event too as I play music from every decade (mainly 50s and 60s): so we are always singing along as we exercise
Exercise helps with improving bone density, balance, mobility especially for those who suffer with joint issues. We know the best way to protect joints is to keep muscles strong. Exercise also helps with positive minds as well, helping us release those endorphins and creating a sense of well being
Anyway, I feel there are many people who struggle with fitness classes, by way of balance or joint issues. I am,therefore, considering running a seated fitness class which would focus on all the important components of fitness with strength training and mobility. Anyone could attend, but would be ideal for those struggling with their lack of fitness and mobility
I am looking at possibly a Monday class at St Peter’s Balsall Common at 11.30am for 45 minutes. The class would cost £28 for a four week programme (payable for the month, depending on how many weeks per month)
I would need medical confirmation for clients with health issues
