1v1 Defending 🛑⚽️

Here at Top Touch Coaching we also coach out of possession technique. 1v1 defending is important all over the pitch.

Trying to force a left footed attacker away from the goal by using the correct body shape, keeping on your toes, eyes on the ball being patient delaying them forcing them away from the goal or into a position where they can’t have a shot, waiting for the moment to win the ball.

SCANNING 👀

Scanning is one the most important tools a player can have. In this scanning practice you can see each player scans as they play the ball off the wall then adds a second scan to see where their team mate is, even though they are moving around trying to catch each other out.

We create an environment where players are learning to scan, build pictures and create good habits. These pictures include - Where their team mate is on the pitch, how far away an opponent is, how much time and space they might have when they receive the ball.

Did you know that the best players in the world scan 6-8 times in the 10 seconds before they get the ball!? This is what makes the top players truly world class ⚽️⚽️.
