Match Report: RA U14s Tornadoes
secure a brilliant 3 points! 🌪️⚽

The RA U14s Tornadoes put on a masterclass yesterday in a thrilling clash against Cockfield Juniors.
The boys showed exactly what they are made of, proving that all their intense summer training is paying off on the pitch.

Here is how the action unfolded: Oliver W spearheaded the attack, netting two wonderful goals to set the tone. Tyler put in a massive shift all game and got his well-deserved reward, battling hard to secure a third goal.

Dexter and Oliver B controlled the engine room, putting on a clinic in midfield teamwork. Cockfield fought hard and made it a tough contest, but they were no match for the Tornadoes' chemistry, work rate, and collective spirit. It was a complete team performance from the first whistle to the last to lock in a well-deserved 3 points.🏆

Player Awards: A special shoutout goes to Dexter, who absolutely showed great dedication and took home a clean sweep as both Player of the Match and Coaches' Player of the Match!

Darlington RA 4–0 Linthorpe

Darlington RA produced another excellent all-round team performance as they ran out comfortable 4–0 winners against Linthorpe.

RA dominated the opening half, creating chance after chance and putting Linthorpe under constant pressure. Despite their dominance, the breakthrough proved difficult to find, with RA unable to convert several good opportunities.

The deadlock was eventually broken following some excellent play down the right-hand side, with Cameron Holliday finishing off a well-worked move to give RA a deserved lead.

RA went into the break 1–0 ahead, but the scoreline perhaps didn’t reflect their dominance during the opening 45 minutes.

The second half saw RA facing the added challenge of strong windy conditions, but they continued to hold their own and maintain control of the game. The pressure eventually paid off again as Danny Longstaff found the back of the net to double RA’s advantage.

RA continued to push forward, and Harley Coad added a third to put the game firmly in the team’s control.

With Linthorpe unable to find a way back into the match, RA continued to work hard and were rewarded with a fourth and final goal from Cody Hutton, sealing an impressive 4–0 victory.

Another fantastic team performance from Darlington RA, with everyone contributing to a well-deserved clean-sheet victory.

⭐ Man of the Match: Harley Coad

A dominating performance in midfield from Harley Coad, who controlled the middle of the park and played a key role in RA’s commanding display.

Match Report vs Hartlepool CC
RA over 40s visited Hartlepool Cricket Club this weekend in what was seen as a crucial game even this early in the season.

A lacklustre start by the RA saw their opponents dominate the early part of the first half and capitalise on some sloppy play to take a deserved early lead. As Hartlepool continued to dominate possession through the majority of the first half, the RA began to grow into the game with some good interlinking play between Stephen Thompson, Michael Carter and the returning Alan Haycock. This combination finally proved too much for the opposition and not long before the break Haycock was quickly on to a Thompson through ball to finish smartly past the keeper for his first goal of the season.

An injury to RA Captain John Todd saw a change at half time and the RA reappeared from the break and continued in the fashion that they finished the first half. Further substitutions and change of formation proved the key to the RA taking the lead halfway through the second half again it was Haycock finding the back net, this time from a clever through ball from Si McCollin.

As full time approached the RA took steps to try and close the game out and hold on to a vital 3 points, but with 5 mins to go, a mistake by Nick Bannister on the edge the box gifted an opportunity for Hartlepool to draw level. This gift was not passed up by the Hartlepool striker who finished coolly to all but guarantee the points were to be shared with so little time left.

The last 5 mins of the game saw both teams press for the win with chances at both ends and the passion and commitment of the players being pushed to the limit. Bannister’s blushes were spared in outstanding fashion though when Pip Nichol step up to a free kick on the edge of the opponents box with only moments left on the clock. His left footed strike was up and over the wall and into the very top corner to secure a hard fought victory that provides a platform for the team to go and build on.

RA Rockets U11🚀 Vs Redcar Athletic Reds U11.
Today the Rockets hosted Redcar at HQ, both teams battled well and played some really good football creating chances. For the RA it just wasn't falling well for them today and Redcar capitalised with a neatly taken goal, into the 2nd half it was much the same both teams battling well creating chances with both keepers making great saves.
Not our day today in a game which could have went either way but we pick ourselves back up and go again next week.

Well done in today's game Rockets 🚀 working hard for each other and some good individual battles.

U12 Rockets

Another tough day for the U12 Rockets today where decisions just didn't go our way.

A great first half performance from the kids, with plenty of passing play and moving the ball about. In the second half, we dropped behind to a couple of goals and the team just couldn't get motivated again.

These are the type of games that test you. The kids continue to work hard and plenty to focus on in training.

Well done to Travis, Player of the Match and to Lyla, Player of the Week.

RA Tornadoes U7’s

The Tornadoes U7’s played their second away league game versus Nunthorpe Athletic Blues U7’s and again with a full squad of 9 v 9 this week, the lads had 4 x 10min games.

Teams being mixed every game, the lads all getting used to playing with each other still but some really good football.

The opposition had a couple of very strong players that made each game very tough.

It was a week for strong tackles and maximum effort and that resulted in the Player of the Match being Lucas but once again all the lads did very well and represented the RA perfectly, playing with respect and fairness but with 100% effort!

Well done lads, on to the next one!
