⚠️ What NOT to expect ‼️

As much as I wish getting a personal trainer was a cheat code for instant health and a perfect body, it's important to let you know what NOT to expect when starting personal training!

🛌 Overnight transformations:

You're not going to wake up the day after your first training session and suddenly be ripped. It takes time, dedication, and consistency to see real results!

🧪 A magic potion:

Sorry to burst your bubble, but there's no magic potion or pill that will instantly give you the body of your dreams. There's no shortcut to success. You need to put in the work both in and out of the gym.

✨ Perfection:

Nobody's perfect. You're going to slip up and make mistakes. That's okay. What's important is that you keep showing up and putting in the effort.

🪄 Instant gratification:

You’re not going to be able to deadlift your bodyweight after one session and you’re not going to see a six-pack after one ab workout. It takes time and consistency to see progress.

🐢 A passive experience:

You need to be an active participant in your own journey. Ask questions, listen to feedback, and push yourself outside of your comfort zone. That's the only way you'll see real progress.

Remember, fitness is a journey, not a destination. So sit back, relax, and enjoy the ride!

Fitness journey? More like a fitness adventure! 😎💪

Whether you're sweating it out in the gym, trying out a new fitness class, or giving an activity a go that you never knew existed, the journey towards fitness can be full of unexpected twists and turns.

But that's what makes it so much fun! I love finding awesome activities to do when travelling. You get to see places from a whole new perspective and enjoy being active at the same time. Whether it’s hiking up a canyon, swimming in a blue water spring or sandboarding down dunes, it’s always a good time! You never know what kind of challenges you'll face or what kind of gains you'll make along the way. Plus, there's nothing like the rush of endorphins that comes from a good workout.

Sure, there will be days when you'd rather hit the snooze button than lace up your trainers, but then you remember that each workout is a step towards a healthier, happier you and it makes it all worth it 🙌

So, embrace the craziness of your fitness adventure, and remember to have fun along the way. Who knows, you might just end up with a six-pack of abs... or a six-pack of beer to celebrate your hard work 🥳

There's no whey I'm not hitting my protein goals this month 💪

Protein plays a critical role in muscle growth and repair, making it an essential nutrient for muscle growth, recovery, and overall athletic performance

Without adequate protein intake, you may struggle to make progress in the gym or on the pitch!

To determine how much protein you should be consuming, you'll need to take into account a variety of factors, including:

⚖️ Body Weight
💪 Training Intensity
🎯 Overall Goals

Athletes and strength training enthusiasts may require higher levels of protein intake to support muscle growth and recovery.

Individuals looking to lose weight may also benefit from higher levels of protein intake to support weight loss efforts and maintain lean muscle mass.

For most healthy adults, the general recommendation is to consume between 0.8 - 1 gram of protein per kilogram of body weight per day 🍗

Lean sources of protein are best! Think, chicken, fish, and lean cuts of beef, as well as plant-based sources like beans, lentils, and quinoa 🤯

But remember, protein intake isn't the only factor in achieving optimal performance.

Focus on a well-rounded nutrition plan that includes plenty of fruits and vegetables, healthy fats, and whole grains, as well as regular exercise, adequate sleep, and stress management!

With a balanced approach to nutrition and lifestyle, you can achieve your strength and performance goals and perform at your best both in and out of the gym 🙌

A Dream Come True! 💭😍

Ever since I qualified as a PT, I’ve always dreamt of having my own fitness space and yesterday that dream became a reality 🤩

Thank you to .east88 for providing me with the opportunity to become Co-Creator of the Small Group Training facility in Hardwick, Cambridge!

Together we have a created what we believe will be the best group training space in Cambridge. We’ve poured blood and sweat (fortunately no tears) into bringing you this amazing facility!

I also want to say a massive thank you to my wonderful wife .jenkins without your support this would have never been possible!

We’ve got 33 classes per week with our 7 unique styles which include Weightlifting and Partner based sessions.

So if you’ve ever been intimidated lifting weights in the gym or have always wanted to find someone to workout with, who will support and motivate you, we have the right place for you!

2023 is the year to stay on track!

I think we can all agree the past couple of years have changed the way we look at our lives. The most obvious one for me is the amount of exercise we’ve done as a nation, which some will argue is due to the extra time we’ve had. However, with workouts only taking up 4% of our day can we really justify that as the reason we are now more active than ever before.

We may also need to work harder than before to keep our new habits with us, so how can we stay on track?

I’d like to share with you some tips that help me stay disciplined and will hopefully help you during the transition into another new chapter of our lives

🗓1. PLAN YOUR WEEK! 🗓
Every Friday or Saturday set out your intentions for the week ahead. Schedule your work hours first, then your workout times and then build in your social calendar to suit.

👟2. SET YOURSELF UP FOR SUCCESS! 👟
Lay out your workout clothes the night before, so either they’re ready to take with you or you can get dressed in them if you’re WFH.

🏃🏼‍♀️3. PLAN YOUR WORKOUTS DAMMIT! 🏃🏼‍♀️
You should always know what you’re doing before you begin a workout. Don’t waste any of your exercise time trying to decide what to do. Follow a set plan, if you’re unsure how to create one do not hesitate to ask me for help.

🥒4. PREP YOUR FOOD! 🥒
Even if you’re home all day, it will still save you time and stop you from eating rubbish or ordering takeouts. It doesn’t have to be a whole meal, but something as simple as chopping your veg during a lunch break can help make dinner quicker and more convenient for you.

🗣5. BECOME ACCOUNTABLE! 🗣
Whether it’s tracking daily steps, tracking your calories or getting someone like me to coach you. Keeping track of things will not only motivate you when you make small wins every day, but will also hold you accountable to them to make sure you’re progressing.
