If anyone wonders why it is expensive to hire a minibus or a coach?
These are just a few things to consider:

✅ the vehicle its self is expensive to buy

✅Vehicles have to have 6 weekly checks to make sure they are safe and legal for the road, any work needs doing immediately.

✅insurance is expensive, motor insurance for the vehicle,public liability insurance.

✅ Driver’s wages, have to be paid- operators have to pay top wages to get good drivers who will look after the vehicle and the customers.

✅Drivers have to have the correct license entitlement,having to do a theory and a practical test which they have to pass a medical as well.
Drivers have to sit 35 hours of cpc training to make sure they know the law regarding tachographs,driving hours,daily rest,weekly rest., this has to be renewed every 5 years.
Driver has to do a walk round check everytime the vehicle goes out to make sure it is safe .

All this costs money for a coach and minibus operator to operate vehicles in a safe and legal manner,ensuring customer safety is number1 priority at all times.
So when you are getting a price all of these things have to be taken into account by the operator before they even think about profit.
Costs are rising all the time on insurance,fuel,parts.

It’s not as easy as just jumping in a bus and charging people cheap prices.

Most customers aren’t aware of all the rules and regulations and just go for the cheapest price - cheap is cheap for a reason.
All coaches or minibuses with 9 passenger seats or more should be displaying a blue or a green disc in the front windscreen,this tells the customer it has an operator licence.
