Corby Town Walking Football can confirm that, following careful consideration, our section will conclude its formal relationship with Corby Town Football Club at the end of the current season.
This decision has not been taken lightly. Over recent months we have engaged in constructive discussions around the club’s future direction and proposed structural changes.
While we fully support the principle of a unified and sustainable club model, it has become clear that we hold differing views on governance, representation, and financial structure which we believe are fundamental to the continued success of grassroots football.
In particular, we believe that effective decision-making relies on balanced representation, strong football and grassroots experience, and clear, transparent financial structures that allow sections to operate efficiently while maintaining appropriate oversight. These principles remain central to our values moving forward.
We are immensely proud of our football club, which has been built over many years through the dedication of volunteers, coaches and players, and has been supported by robust governance, careful financial management, and a strong community ethos.
As we move forward independently, we want to be absolutely clear: our commitment to player development, enjoyment of the game, and positive community impact remains unchanged.
Most importantly, we thank our players, volunteers, and supporters for their ongoing trust and commitment. We are excited about the next chapter and are confident that we will continue to thrive, develop, and inspire within our community.
Further information about our future plans will be shared in due course.
