Do you own this camper van?

We’re trying to get in touch with the owner of the camper van that’s been parking in Weldon Village Hall car park for prolonged periods recently.

The car park is private property and parking is reserved for people using the Village Hall, as well as parents and carers using it for school pick-up and drop-off.

If everyone parked their camper vans in the car park, there simply wouldn’t be enough space for hall users, visitors and school families 😔

🧑‍🎨 Painters and decorators wanted!

Like many of us, Weldon Village Hall is looking a little tired around the edges and is in need of a bit of glow-up 🤩

We’re looking for quotes from painters and decorators to give the hall a refresh. It would be great to use someone local, so if anyone has any recommendations, please do tag them below or drop us a message.

⚠️ Giant Hogweed warning - please take care near the brook ⚠️

We have what appears to be Giant Hogweed growing next to the brook in the Weldon Village Hall car park.

We’re arranging for it to be removed properly, but in the meantime, please do keep well away from the plant and make sure children and dogs are kept away from the area too.

Giant Hogweed sap can react with sunlight and cause very nasty burns, blistering and even scarring, so please don’t touch it or attempt to remove it yourself.

🧸 Village Halls Week Spotlight: Weldon Pre-School 🧸

As part of Village Halls Week, we’re proud to shine a spotlight on some of our youngest regular users: Weldon Pre-School.

Supporting children aged 2–4 years, the pre-school is a not-for-profit organisation that calls Weldon Village Hall home every day during term time.

Each day, the hall is transformed into a warm, welcoming and engaging space for the children to learn, play and grow. As a pack-away setting, it looks different every day, which makes each session exciting for the children and is a reflection of the care and creativity of the team who make it such a special place.

Weldon Pre-School is a wonderful example of how the village hall supports early development and a positive start for the youngest members of our community.

🎨 Village Halls Week Spotlight: Creativity & Wellbeing 🎭

As part of Village Halls Week, we’re celebrating how creativity can be a powerful outlet for wellbeing, helping people express themselves, build confidence and connect with others.

Every Sunday, the hall comes alive with the sound of Rising Star Studios (formerly Weldon Amateur Theatre School), an award-winning theatre school for young people. Through rehearsals for their fantastic shows, they nurture creativity, confidence and teamwork in a fun and supportive environment.

We’re also proud to host Weldon Art Group who meet every Thursday afternoon to paint, draw and share their passion for art. Throughout the year, they also hold exhibitions at the hall, showcasing the incredible talent within our community.

From performing arts to visual creativity, these groups are great examples of how the village hall supports wellbeing through creativity, connection and self-expression.
