Equine-facilitated mindfulness, yoga, and meditation offer a multitude of benefits for both mental and physical well-being.

By cultivating present-moment awareness and non-judgmental acceptance of events and situations with horses, mindfulness meditation can help us reduce our stress levels while enhancing our overall resilience and ability to regulate our emotions.

Regular practice can improve concentration, focus, and cognitive function, and lead to greater clarity of thought and more effective decision-making. Physically, it has been associated with reduced blood pressure, improved sleep quality, and enhanced immune function. โ˜€๏ธ

These events will follow a gentle flow of yoga, breathwork, and meditation suitable for beginners.

All of my classes end with a pose that looks something like this. Its Sanskrit name is Savasana and we generally stay there for about five minutes.

The shape looks like 'lying down resting' - because basically, that's what it is ๐Ÿ˜‚ You might also meet Tadasana (mountain pose) in a class, which looks like standing up. Or Dandasana (staff pose), which looks like sitting down with your legs out in front...

Yoga poses don't have to be complicated - and they can all be adjusted to fit your body and how it's feeing that day.

Join me outside for some gentle yoga this *Sunday, 14 June* at Random's Retreat CIC Consett. 10am-noon. Savasana will definitely be on the menu ๐Ÿงก ๐Ÿ™

I've given up on checking... Looking forward to another gorgeous outdoor session with horse and human friends at Random's Retreat CIC this Sunday. The yoga will be gentle and last around an hour, we'll spend some mindful time in nature and there'll be time for drinks and a natter.

Getting excited about fun things coming up over the summer, but also giving huge gratitude to the gorgeous Monday night gang who turn up on the mat week after week at Consett Heart - Heritage and Arts Centre.
