The evening will also see the opening of our new 3G pitch by Peter Beardsley, who did the honours when Belle View opened 13 years ago. Great to have him back!

Our first team and reserves got their first chance to play on our new 3G pitch tonight in a full-scale practice match. The young reserve side scored in the first minute through Brandon Bailey, but the seniors' experience told as they ran out comfortable winners.

The Reserves have the honour of playing the first competitive match on the new pitch when they take on Spennymoor Town Youth this Saturday in their opening Wearside League Division 2 fixture. With no first-team game, they'd love your support.

We're delighted to announce that our first match on our new 3G pitch will be an extra pre-season friendly against Gateshead FC next week.

Thanks to the Heed for taking the game at short notice, and NUFC & England legend Peter Beardsley for agreeing to do the official opening.
