🎭🤸 DVGC Summer Show – Important Information for Parents 🤸🎭
We’re looking forward to welcoming everyone to our Summer Show! Please take a moment to read the information below to help the day run as smoothly as possible.
Arrival & Uniform
1pm Show - Arrival 12pm-12:15pm
4pm Show - Arrival 3pm-3:15pm
(Squads have been contacted separately on their arrival time.)
Please bring your child dressed and ready for the show.
Allowed attire:
✔️ Plain black or plain purple leotard/t-shirt
✔️ DVGC leotard/t-shirt
✔️ Plain black leggings or shorts may be worn with a t-shirt and can also be worn over a leotard if preferred
If your child is wearing a leotard without leggings or shorts, please ensure underwear is not visible. Leotards can be worn without underwear, which is generally preferred for performances.
🚫 No hoodies or jewellery are permitted on stage.
If you’re unsure whether your child has the correct attire, please speak to a member of staff in person. Uniform orders for those who have purchased kit to wear in the show are due in this week.
Hair to be tied up and out of the gymnasts’ face.
Footwear
The show will be performed barefoot, so please send your child in footwear they can easily remove and put back on themselves. Crocs or sliders are ideal and help us avoid any rogue socks!
🏷️ Please label any extra items you send with your child, as belongings can easily get mixed up.
Stage Make-Up (Optional)
Stage lighting can wash out facial features, so light stage make-up is recommended, although it is not compulsory.
Girls:
✨ Light foundation or tinted moisturiser (optional)
✨ Blusher
✨ Neutral eyeshadow
✨ Mascara (if appropriate for your child)
✨ N**e, pink or natural-toned lipstick/lip gloss (please avoid bright red lipstick)
Boys:
✨ No make-up is necessary, but a light dusting of powder can help reduce shine under the stage lights if preferred.
Please keep any make-up age-appropriate and comfortable for your child. The aim is simply to help their smiles and expressions show up under the theatre lighting.
What to Bring
💧 Plenty of water or other drinks
🍎 Snacks for during the day
🎲 Books, colouring, quiet activities or other items to help occupy your child while they wait between performances
Please note that any items brought are the responsibility of the child and parent. DVGC cannot be held responsible for lost or damaged belongings.
During the Show
Children will only be permitted to leave during the show in exceptional circumstances. We must ensure all gymnasts can be accounted for at all times.
We’d also love your support throughout the performance. Every gymnast in the club has worked incredibly hard on their routines, and a full audience makes a huge difference to all of our performers.
Summer Show Fundraisers
As well as enjoying an amazing performance from our gymnasts, we’ll be running a few fun fundraisers throughout the day to help raise money for new club equipment.
🔢 Sit Down Bingo
£1 per number
Played during the interval. If your number is called, you sit down. The last person left standing wins the prize!
🎟️ Raffle
£1 per strip
Lots of great prizes to be won. If your ticket is drawn, you can choose your prize. The raffle will be drawn at the end of both shows while gymnasts are being dismissed.
🪣 Donation Buckets
Any loose change or donations are greatly appreciated. Every penny raised goes directly back into the club to help us purchase new equipment and continue providing the best experience for our gymnasts.
End of Show Collection
To ensure all gymnasts are dismissed safely, we ask that one parent/guardian per child remains in the hall after the show.
We will bring each class out one at a time. When your child’s class comes out, please stand up and come to us to collect them. We will then mark them as collected on our register before they leave.
Please bear with us during this process. With over 100 children to dismiss, we need to ensure every gymnast is collected safely and accounted for correctly.
Thank you for your patience, cooperation and continued support. We can’t wait to see you all at the show and celebrate everything our gymnasts have achieved this year! 💜🖤
