Two of our very own have been on a trek of a life time to Everest Base Camp.

Grant and Mark pictured with their guide R.D. representing the Snods shirts, have been trekking for 8 days to reach Base Camp all in the aid of raising money for Street Child of Nepal. This is to help fund children's education in Nepal and to offer them a better life and learning.

They still aren't finished as they have 3 more days to hike back down so still have some tough days ahead but have reached their main goal of Everest Base Camp.

They have managed to raise over £2,000 so far and would love to raise more. If you can donate, please help fund a child education.

Great game for the neutral today at Snods Edge saw North Shields take the 3 points.

Despite the weather, the game started bright. Both teams started with urgency and fast playing with both teams looking for that early opening goal. Chances came for both teams with close range header from North Shields and Ross Wilson smashing the bar at the other end for Snods to name a few. The missed chances took the game to 0-0 at half time with both teams thinking who's going to break the deadlock and either team could win this game with how close the first half had been.

However, North Shields came out strong and took the lead within a minute from their winger finding himself free in the box and lobbing the Snods keeper to float it in the top corner.

The 2nd goal came from a great save from Marc to tip it onto the post but unfortunately the rebound landed to a North Shields player to tap in.

North Shields third came from a corner where their centre back scored with a bullet header to make them take the lead 3-0 within 15 minutes of the restart.

Snods made some immediate changes to try freshen things up and soon got a goal back. Henry threw on goal was tripped and the ref pointed to the spot. Ross Wilson stepped up and smashed it into the net.

Snods continued to battle looking for more ways to try get back into the game and did with 3 minutes before the end where Tommy High was slotted through on goal to tuck it under the keeper to give Snods the belief to try push on for a last minute equaliser.

Unfortunately, it was a little too late and North Shields took the win.

Snods knew it was going to be a tough game against the league champions but they can be proud of their performance. As much as they went 3 down, they continued to battle until the end and just came up short in a close contest.

After a 2 week break, We are looking forward to our next home fixture in the North East Christian Fellowship League

We welcome North Shields CCFC to Snods Edge for what is going to be a tough match,

North Shields CCFC are always up there as one of the strongest teams in the League, the lads are sure to put in 100% come Saturday,

After a two week break, The lads have been back on the training ground, in preparation for our next league match,

2-2 with the points shared in our North East Christian Fellowship League match,

The Snods started off well, controlling the play and keeping the ball, Bill Quay CCFC took the lead with a corner from the right,

Finding ourselves behind from a scrappy corner. Ross Wilson found the back of the net with a header to being the game level.

Bill Quey once again found the back of the net from a corner,

Finding ourselves chasing the game, many time last season our heads would drop but we cracked on and a lovely ball into the box found Ben in the center of the box, not taking any chances he put his foot through it to bring the game level.

With the 3 points still to play for Jason Bell found himself unmarked in the Box, Ben whipped in a lovely cross that was met by Jason but it wasn't to be with the resulting header just inches from finding the back of the net.

Good performance from the lads with full effort throughout the 90 minutes.
