MATCH REPORT 📝
The Firsts cruised to a commanding home victory in a dominant display from start to finish.
Dingham flew out of the blocks, opening the scoring inside 3 minutes. A fizzing cross from Harris evaded everyone and nestled into the side netting for a dream start. Just four minutes later, the pressure told again, Cooper’s quick feet left the keeper with no choice but to bring him down, and M. Iliff calmly converted from the spot.
With momentum firmly on their side, the lads kept pushing. Their persistence paid off when Harris was again at the heart of things, his saved effort falling kindly for Preston to tap home and extend the lead.
The message at half-time was simple: get the next goal. The team delivered exactly that, with M. Iliff grabbing his second just eight minutes into the second half.
To their credit, the visitors kept battling and pulled one back from the penalty spot on 65 minutes after a handball decision. Any hopes of a comeback, however, were shut down by a composed and resolute Dingham defence, who saw the game out in style to secure a deserved 4-1 win.
