Today coniston afc paid tribute to a former player and friend who sadly passed away this week, Raymond “reggie” Doyle played for our junior sides, Coniston players would play for ulverston rangers on a Saturday, then the complement would be returned on a Sunday, many friendships made and still exist today, reggie helped coniston win many trophies also winning a league championship, reggie will be sorely missed from all associated with coniston afc RIP REGGIE

Looking forward to seeing everyone tomorrow at our football club fundraiser. There is kids fun footy lead by Tim Fletcher £1per child, 11.30-12.30. Followed by the past v present senior game, KO 1pm, £5 entry to play. We will be selling burgers at £2.50 and home baked cakes to buy for a donation. There will also be a football card, £2 a team, for a chance to win £40. Everyone Welcome.

Dont forget theres fun to be had Saturday!! Whether that's through the kids fun football session, to be lead by Timmy Tim Fletcher or a good old laugh at the past v present match. Come along from 11.30am, bbq burgers, hot dogs for the kids, cakes, bar open and catch up old with friends past and present.

SATURDAY 28TH DECEMBER AT CONISTON SPORTS AND SOCIAL CENTRE

Kick off is 1pm Meet for 12.30pm
All ex coniston players welcome for a game and will cost £5 a player. We will need as many as possible as our energy levels probably wont be as good as they used to be. Bar will be open usual hours.

We will also be having some fun junior football for primary school kids (boys and girls) from years 1-6 from 11.30am. untill 12.30pm Cost is £1 a child
All children to be accompanied by an adult.
All money raised goes to help the running of Coniston Football Club.

Tribute to Jimmy Fryer.
Coniston AFC & Holker Old Boys showed their class on Saturday by holding 1 minutes silence in remembrance of Jimmy Fryer who passed away just before Christmas. Jimmy used to attend most Coniston home games whilst enjoying a pint or two and a crack with other local fans. Quite fitting really that the church bells started ringing as the club remembered a true local legend. RIP Jimmy.

*URGENT*
*We need players and a team manager.*
Unfortunately both team managers have stepped down from position. Leaving a great opportunity for someone to take on the role of leading and organising the team. Old and new players, over the age of16yrs also needed to commit their time on a Saturday afternoon to play.
*This will either be the making or breaking of our much loved and supported club*. So please show your support, comment if you intend to play this next season or have any interest in helping run the team. I will be letting the league and FA know by the end of next week if we are entering a team or folding.
