Yesterday was one of those days that'll live long in the memory.

A day off with good weather forecast took myself and two friends to Brantrake Crag in Eskdale.

My day was all about the Central Crack VS** 5a. knowing it was sustained high end VS was a challenge for me, but knowing the protection was good I racked up and went for it! Once on the crag I was absolutely committed to the route. Jaming my fingers in the crack, pulling, side pulling, placing gear, jamming my foot in the crack and stepping up, smearing. With my arms screaming I topped out with elation and took in the view of Eskdale.

Routes led:
Closed Season HS 4a led
Central Crack VS** 5a led
(Seconded a handful of nice routes too)

It was a pleasure to watch Rich and Sam take on the HVS on the main slab in such a beautiful setting.

An excellent day in Langdale guiding on Tuesday for Langdale Cottage.

Starting from the Old Dungeon Ghyll Hotel we ascended up the band. After some early showers the weather cleared unveiling fantastic views as we summited Bowfell and Esk Pike.

After a lunch stop at Esk Hause we descended towards Angle tarn. Following a summit of Rosset Pike we headed into Mickledon valley and Great Langdale.

A great day out in the mountains with an excellent group.
