We play a non-contact friendly walking form of five or six a side football and we are affiliated to the Walking Football Association and the FA. We start the session with a warm up, and then we play short games, following Walking Football rules. Everyone can benefit from Walking Football, no matter what your ability or experience. It can benefit both your physical and mental health, help you meet new people and improve your confidence. We welcome both men over 50 or women over 30, so why not come along and see what we are about.

Hi everyone. Today at the Allan Barker stadium 🏟 we had a special visitor from the Coop, a nice lady came to have a chat and take photos 📸 and watch us play football ⚽️ 😀. Thirteen eager players turned up to play football ⚽️. Both teams had two fantastic goalies saving amazing shots, 🙌🙌 well done lads👏👏👏👏👏. Chalky was Yellow's goalie, Chris Green's goalie. We had Flash ⚡as support, he picked the teams and talked to the Coop lady about the art of walking football. Nick M was the ref 📯. Sorry if the report is missing someone, or the scores are wrong, I am a bit rusty as I haven't been for a while.
Green team were, Hermes 🪽🪽, Jem, Max, Kev and Andy.
And Yellow were, Lee, Mark, Stew, Dave, Twinkle toes 👟👟✨and Matt.
Both games were played with great enthusiasm with plenty of great shots at goal 👏. The defence from both teams was strong 💪 and marking of players was fantastic.
First game was three touch rules. It was clear from the first whistle at kick off, both teams were equally matched. There were plenty of shots being blocked 🚫 from each team's goal, making hard to score. We did have some ungentlemanly behaviour 😳 🫵 and the odd 🤔 bout of Usain Bolt 🔩 moments, 🫵🤦‍♂️ which were dealt with swiftly by the ref 📯. But eventually with some determination 😉 and help from his teammates Kev scored for Green 🥳. But this didn't go unnoticed by Yellow, because Twinkle toes saw the opportunity to score, and he did twice 🥳🥳.
There was a water break in the first game to catch our breath.
First game over.
The second game was unlimited touches, so let the fun begin. Again, another tremendously well played game with great defence and tactics from both sides 👏. Of course it wouldn't be football with the odd misdemeanour, which were dealt with swiftly by Nick, even though the ref's decision was challenged, but what the ref says, goes. Jem scored one in the first half for Green 🥳. The second half commenced and again it was played excellently. We saw 👀 Twinkle toes ✨️ 👟👟 at it again and he scored twice 🥳🥳.
Overall score was 4-2 to Yellow.
Thank you everyone who came today, it was a fantastic session. The camaraderie was brilliant 👏 and nice to see so many happy faces 😀 😊.

Wednesday 2nd September 2026.
Spots of rain as we arrived at the AB but still warm. Cleared as quick as it came.
Yellow. v Green.
Andy Colin P
Simon Colin N
John M. Jem
Suzanne Peter (Chairman Goalkeeper)
Lee.
Referee duty loosely taken up by myself.
3 touch 12 min games.
First half ended 3-3 Jem 3 and Simon 3
Then all the action started. Had to check the notes and correct the score.
Jem with another, followed by Colin N with a double.
John sneaked one in 4-6, Jem with double 4-8.
Peter's big toe left the area giving Yellow Simon a chance. Peter with a great save👐, say no more.
Then I awarded Green a penalty, can't remember why. Andy 👐 saved a shot by Lee. Ended 8-4 Green
Next game.
Andy scored for Yellow, a strange scream 😱 given out by Peter as the ball went into the net 8-5. Simon and Lee scored one each 8-7. Colin P made it 9-7 Jem with a double and Colin N ending the half 11-7.
Last half, Lee and John for Yellow making it 11-9.

Well done Peter in goal. Suzanne, thanks for staying covering First Aid.

Last night at the Allan Barker stadium 🏟️, we had fantastic turnout of players 👏👏. Andy is back after recovering from an injury, welcome back 😀. The Green team were Colin P, Matt, the twins, New Steve, Lee and Andy the goalie 🙌. The Yellow team were Elvis 🕺🏼, Flash ⚡, Jem, Barry, Chalky, Shaz, Kevan and Rob in Goal 🙌.
And we mustn't forget Pete the ref 📯. This match was three touch rules. Both sides were equally matched, with some great passing skills and manoeuvres. We did see 👀 some satellite 🛰 moments and the people know who they were 🫵. And yes, there were some Usain Bolt moments too, which Pete nipped in the bud. But football ⚽️ is full of surprises 😮, as we saw 👀 Jem put one into the net for Yellow 🥳. There were plenty of ooooooohs and arrrrrs at the near misses at goal. But Green managed to get through the Yellow's defence and Paul put one into the net for them 🥳. Then Flash ⚡sneaked past Green's defence and scored for Yellow 🥳, Lee decided that he wanted some of the action 🎬 and scored 🥳 for Green. The final whistle blew marking time was up.
Final score was 2-2.
Game two commenced with unlimited touches. We saw some fantastic tactics and passing skills. It was a mind blowing 🤯 game, there was some amazing nifty footwork, and great defence work 👏. Pete was on the whistle, catching some ungentlemanly behaviour, and of course the usual not walking offenders ??🫵 .In this game we saw plenty of goals 🙌, with Jem scoring the first one for Yellow ?🥳 . As Matt, aka Newshound, was in the affray it was a bit hard to keep up with the action 🎬. But Flash ⚡ was on a mission and broke through Yellow's defence and scored a right blinder for Green🥳, then Barry scored 🥳 for Yellow. Green played fantastically well, getting through Yellow's defence with Lee scoring twice 🥳 and Steve who scored one. 🥳. There was some more tremendously played football but time was up.
Final score was 3-3.
Both goalies did some fantastic work tonight 👏 👏👏👏.
Brilliant night, with plenty for camaraderie.
Thanks to the supporters who came today to watch. And to Sue for being the First aider ⛑️.
That's it for now.

It's the last Wednesday of August. I've checked and double checked, Hazel. 🤣
Bit warmer this morning at the AB🌞
Red v White
Reds Colin N, Lee, Max, Alan, Ian, and Suzanne in goal, out of the way of the Referee, hopefully no disputes this morning🤣
Whites Paul, Colin P, John M, Jem, Stuart, and Simon, who gets a mention later.
Pete on the whistle, off we go.
Simon had the first goal disallowed by the ref as no advantage was played. Simon had a second attempt saved by Suzanne.🤲
So Colin N was first to score for Red. Simon then equalised with a grunt assist. Alan scored for Red. Simon scored two more for White with this now familiar grunt. First half ended 3-2 to White.
Second half Colin P took over shot- stopping duties from Jem. Ian with a shot into the top corner of the goal bringing it to 3-3.
Simon then made it 4-3 Jem with across pitch pass to Simon to make it 5-3. Lee finished the half for Red making it 5-4 to White.
Paul had a go in goal for White in the second game. Alan equalising for Red while I was off retrieving a ball 5-5.
Alan again 6-5 to Red now. Alan again 7-5.
Simon again 7-6. Jem had a go and scored 7-7.
Yep Simon made it 8-7 to White.
Colin P's heel went over the goal line to shouts of penalty. Alan sent it home 8-8.
Stuart was now in goal for White. Ref totted up the offences against White and gave a penalty which Colin N sent home. And that was it. Hang on Simon popped one more in at the last second with a final grunt to bring it to 9-9.
Rounding off a very competitive session.
Hev was off making the tea. 🫖
I was on the notes, dog looking after, ball collection, who said men can't multi-task.
Tea and biscuit in the pavilion after for a quick chat. Stuart suggested we contact Sleaford slugs for a friendly🤣🤣.🐌
Overall, great sesson and of course, thanks to Peter on the whistle.

Another fun session of Walking Football 🥳⚽️🥳

So here we are again on the second to last Monday of August 2026 at the sunset stadium.🌝
Its blooming cold stood around but fortunately it's entertaining watching everyone playing walking football.
Colin picked some good even teams again.
Blue with new boy Barry, Sharon, Colin N, Steve S, Reg, Chalky, and Philip in goal.
Green team Paul, Jem, Alison, Colin P, Suzanne, Steve A, and Rob in goal.
Pete blows the whistle to start the evening's entertainment/football.
3 touch first game.
Alison opened the scoring with a blinder of a goal from the corner across the face of the goal to the opposite post and in, Goal of the day. 🎉🎉
Steve S followed with a goal for Blue, Jem for Green and Steve S again for Blue to even the first half.
Second half 0-0. But plenty of attempts at goal.
Game two Jem opened with a quick goal from kick off.
Then Suzanne foot slipped over the line to award Blue a penalty. Suzanne questioned the Referees’ decision. 🤔 🤣
Barry stepped up and slotted the ball in the corner sending Rob the wrong way.
Then Green totted up too many offences. Reg stepped up but Rob stopped the shot with safe hands.
Steve S after many attempts at goal finished the evening with one more finding the back of the net.
4-3 to Blues.
Hazel n Hev supporting, Suzanne on First Aid
Me on the note pad.
Well done all, a great evening's footy.
Coffee Wednesday after the session.🫖☕️🎂

After a long journey back I made it just in time to see 10 ladies stroll onto a wet and dry evenings' 3G pitch. With the surface and ball wet it made for some fast moving football, mostly within the walking rules lol. With Pete the whistle in charge, on we went with the evening's footy.
Tonight's teams were:
Yellows Alice, Nicola, Vanessa (GK), Shazza and Suzanne Vs
Oranges Nicky, Claire, Nic, Emma and Leanne (GK)
Game 1
Nic 1 for Oranges answered by 1 goal for Alice for Yellows.
Game 2
Alice 2 for Yellows and Claire 1 for Oranges.
Game 3
0v0
Game 4
Nicky 1 (Pen) Oranges, Nicola 1 Yellows.
Some really good passing and play tonight from all our ladies, with lots of the ladies trying new things and positions and working to improve their games, really great to see. Over and out until next week ⚽⚽

Twelve enthusiastic players turned up today, along with Pete our resident ref 📯, at the Allan Barker stadium 🏟️. Nick M was watching on the side lines, giving his support and the Local newshound was there taking notes 📝 and adding his support 😀and Colin P's family was there to support him.
The teams were picked 👍. In the White Bibs were, Paul, Jem, Max, Sue⛑️, Nick S and John.
And in the Red Bibs were, Hermes 🪽🪽, Flash ⚡, Colin P, Stew, Dave and Andy. Today the players wore bibs with numbers on them, this so Pete can penalise the player for ungentlemenly behaviour 😳, not walking etc. This rule will come in next year, so it means if a player marks up three offences he or she will be given a blue card.
Both matches today were played with great finesse, plenty of one two and and great assistance in scoring 👏👏. Both sides' team members took it in turn to go in goal 🥅🥅, and those who did an excellent job 👏. Sue saved two penalties which Reds had awarded to them for White's misdemeanours, well done Sue 🙌🙌👏👏.
The first match looked like both teams were equally matched. There was plenty of excitement and the odd drama. Eagle eyed 👀 Pete was watching for ungentlemenly behaviour, and the "not walking" offenders 🏃🏼‍♂️🫵. White put up a great defence and kept Red busy, but alas Hermes 🪽 was on fire 🔥 with his nifty footwork and broke through White's defence and scored a hattrick 🎩🥳🥳🥳. White went on to full attack mode and outsmarting Red, Jem scored two 🥳🥳. The whistle blew marking half time. A quick H20 break.
Second half was brilliantly played, again we saw some fantastic tactics 👏. John scored one for White 🥳. Then Flash ⚡ answered that with a goal🥳 for Red. A lot of exciting defence work by both sides, White eventually broke through Red's defence and Paul scored 🥳. Red tried hard to score again but time was against them and the final whistle blew.
Final score 4-4.
Second match was another cracking one with some fantastic moves from both sides. Some of the nifty footwork was amazing 👏. Both sides defended well, but eventually cracks started to appear and again Hermes 🪽 took the opportunity to score and he did with a hattrick 🎩, plus two more during the game 🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳 for Red.
Another quick break before the second half commenced.
White equalised in the second half with Nick S scoring a hattrick 🎩 plus another two 🥳🥳🥳. To say this match didn't go without any ungentlemenly behaviour is an understatement 🙄. There was some which Pete nipped in the bud straight away. Andy scored one for Red 🥳. Then Jem with the help of his teammates tactics, scored for White 🥳. Not to miss an opportunity Flash ⚡scored twice for Red. There was some tremendously played football from both sides, but time was up. Final score was 8-6.
Plenty of handshakes 🤝 after the games finished.
With everyone congratulating each other. Thank you to everyone who came today, it was amazing to watch both matches. Thanks to Pete for his amazing work 👏 and to Sue for coming and being first aider ⛑️👏.
