# # 🎾 CTC Ladies Doubles Championships 2026 🎾
With rain forecast, dark clouds looming and everyone repeatedly checking the sky, it was brilliant to have all six players keen to get on court and get the **Ladies Doubles Championships** played! A few even came prepared in **rain jackets**, determined that a bit of British weather wasn’t going to stop them! ☔🎾
First up were **Jude & Louise v Jenny & Glenda**, playing best of three shortened sets, first to five games. There were plenty of laughs, smiles, conversations with partners…and the occasional bit of muttering to themselves! 😆
**Jenny & Glenda** clearly meant business though, getting off to a flying start with a **5–0, 5–1 victory**.
Then the heavy drizzle arrived. Did that stop play? Of course not! ☔🎾 Rain jackets were on and the tennis continued!
**Rachel & Carolyn** took on **Jude & Louise**, with plenty of clever angles, assertive volleys, lobs and aggressive groundstrokes – all mixed in with the increasingly important skill of **wiping rain off glasses between points!** 🤓🌧️ Rachel & Carolyn came through strongly **5–0, 5–2**.
That meant the final match was essentially **the final** – both remaining pairs had one win apiece, so winner takes all! 🏆
**Rachel & Carolyn** raced through the opening set **5–1**, before **Jenny & Glenda roared straight back to take the second 5–1**.
So… Championship tie-break time!
It was a proper rollercoaster, swinging one way and then the other, eventually reaching **9–9** – with some excellent tennis and just a *little* confusion over when everyone was actually supposed to change ends! 😂
Eventually **Jenny & Glenda held their nerve to win 11–9**, crowning them our...

👏 Congratulations to both – and that's **Glenda’s SECOND Club Championship title of the week!** Someone might need to check whether she’s secretly been practising… 🎾😂
Well played to all six ladies for some great tennis, plenty of laughs and, most importantly, refusing to let a bit of British weather spoil the evening! ☔👏🎾
