Congleton Golf Club's Ladies Spring Dinner
Wednesday 13 May 26

What a fantastic night hosted by CGC's Ladt Captain Sue Bailey at this year's Ladies Spring Dinner. With 32 attending, all enjoyed a fantastic dinner and a few celebratory drinks.
During the evening there were a few presentations made with the Dale Young Trophy (sponsored by Bet Evans) awarded to Louise Williams, with seven Winter Warmer prizes also awarded during the evening.

Great night had by all.

We are pleased to offer bespoke World Cup Polo Shirts which can now be ordered and collected in the club, sizes vary from Extra Small to 7 XL.
We want to place on record our thanks to Jim Ross who is printing these and Andy Boyd who designed them.

All orders need to be forward to the office by email as soon as possible but no later than Wednesday the 10th of June if you want these in time for the start of the World Cup.

Cost £15 with all profits going to the club as part of the improvements to the clubhouse.

Congratulations to Dave Wright and Lee Elliott who are representing Congleton Golf Club in the annual Daily Mail Foursomes competition.

They recently secured a 6&4 win over Alderley Edge Golf Club and are now through to the 5th Round.
Previous wins were against Astbury Golf Club in Round 1, a bye in Round 2 and a win against Burslem Golf Club in Round 3.

All at CGC (including Barney) are wishing you all the very best for your next match.

Another Congleton Golf Club Hole in One

On Thursday 21st of May 2026 Aiden Hare achieved the ultimate golfing achievement with a 'Hole in One' on the 3rd Hole at Congleton Golf Club. A truly challenging hole, but on this occasion, very rewarding.

Playing with his brother Ewan and fellow Junior Member Isaac Walton, all three were seen running from the tee to the green to check whether it had actually gone in………indeed it had and the celebrations began.

A Real Family Affair……

Aiden only started Golf with his brother Ewan and dad David in June 2025 when they all joined CGC. It is fair to say that Aidan will always have the bragging rights in this family until such time as Ewan or David manage to match his achievement.

It was so pleasing to welcome the whole family at the Golf Club on Saturday 29th of May, when they all came and enjoyed breakfast and took time out to walk to the scene of this remarkable achievement with Nick Worrall our Head Greenkeeper.

David, Aiden's dad upheld the long-established tradition at Congleton when he left a bottle of Glenfiddich on the bar so members could toast his son's success……..thank you David

It was a quite surreal moment when Aiden got his hole in one as it was watched by a number of members who were participating in the Rowley Boys roll up another long-standing tradition of the club.

Something special really seems to be happening at Congleton Golf Club with 11 'Hole in Ones' in 2025.

Well done Aiden for achieving the first on 2026………let's see how may can follow your remarkable achievement.

Congleton Town Championship Golf - Saturday 30th and Sunday 31st May

What a fantastic weekend with the annual Golf Town Championship taking place between Astbury Golf Club and Congelton Golf Club Members.
The first round was held at Astbury on Saturday 30th May with the top qualifiers playing the second round at Congleton on Sunday 31st May………and what an exciting ending it gave us with a tie and a two hole play-off between Bobby Brightwell and Harry Machin…… both incredibly talented golfers.

Bobby and Harry shared the honours on the first extra hole, but then Bobby hit a magnificent approach shot on the second hole to a foot from the flag securing a birdie, winning the pay-off and the Best Gross score over the two days.

With Bobby winning the best Gross score and 'The Chronicle Cup', the best Nett Score and 'The Congleton Cup' went to Harry……..a fitting end to a great couple of days.

Overall scores for the prize winners up to 5th place were.
