Congleton Town Colts vs Staffordshire Knot Fc ⚫️🟡⚪️

This weekend we travel to Biddulph as we take on Staffs Knot Fc. They currently sit 2nd in the table with 3 wins and 1 loss so will be a tough game.

The teams have met before in a pre season friendly last season with Staffs Knot winning 4-2 ⚽️

Congleton Town Colts 2-3 Vale Hoppers ⚪️🟡⚫️

Congleton league derby ends in defeat. Colts started brightly with a few chances not being put away from balls into the box.

Hoppers got the first goals of the game from a clearance that managed to squeeze past Jord ⚽️

Vale hoppers doubled there lead from a good finish from their forward to put them 2-0 up ⚽️

Colts got back into the game with a lovely half volley from Will into the top left corner ⚽️

Hoppers scored another with a long throw into the box and a slide from their forward to put the ball in the back of the next ⚽️

Will did manage to get his 2nd goal with a screamer into the opposite top corner. 2 goals on his debut ⚽️

Questionable right at the end of the game as their defender wipes Cal out but no penalty given ❌

This one hits hard as if we would of took our chances we could of put the game to bed in the first half but we go again next week against high flying Staffs Knot 🏆

Man of the match for the colts was shared between Will and Ethan 🏆

This week we are back at Back Lane with a local derby. Last time we played Vale Hoppers was in pre-season with the colts coming out 6-3 winners. Both teams were missing players so should be a good game 🏆

Loggerheads Fc 4-1 Congleton Town Colts ⚪️🟡⚫️

25 lads signed and only 11 available. Feels like some people just can’t be arsed.

The 11 lads that actually turned up did play well just a few team mistakes that created them chances and got them the 3 points that they deserved ⚽️

Our only goal of the game came from a lovely half volley into the bottom right corner from Luke 👍

Man of the match for the colts was Adam with an outstanding performance in goal for the 1st, as Jordan’s mrs had a flat tyre so didn’t get here until half time 🙄

Thank you to the Loggerhead lads great bunch, not to sure about the gimp mask in the pub after, that one was a little strange 🤣

Onto next week where we face local rivals Vale Hoppers 🏆

After a dramatic win last weekend in the cup we return to league action against former premier division side Loggerheads Fc. We travel an hour away to Loggerheads in our 3rd away game of the season.

Congleton Town Colts 3-2 Abbey Hulton ⚫️⚪️🟡

Into the 2nd round of the league cup with a win against div 2 side Abbey Hulton. 🏆

Game started well for the colts with the abbey number 11 running into our midfield which saw Frith pick the ball up and put us 1-0 up from outside the box ⚽️

Some good play for Abbey down the right hand side as they slotted the ball to their forward who levels the game ⚽️

Colts then went 2-1 up with a little bit of luck as a cleared ball rebounded of the back of Adam which the abbey keeper could do nothing about ⚽️

Just before half time Abbey levelled the game again with a good finish into the bottom left corner ⚽️

Half Time 2-2 ⏰

2nd half could be one of the most entertaining halves I have ever seen. Screaming for every foul which did actually work for them as Jacob was sent off with a 2nd yellow card. ❌

With both teams having chances the game was heading for extra time until Frith headed the ball into the path of Zak who slotted the ball into the back of the net in the last 30 seconds of the game to win it for the colts ⚽️

Full Time 3-2 ⏰

Well done to the Abbey lads who fought hard on another day it was theirs to win!

Our cup run starts this Sunday with a home game against Abbey Hulton Fc, Abbey are high flying in the division below us but we hope to carry on with another win 🏆

Foxley Fc 2-3 Congleton Town Colts 🟡⚪️⚫️

Another season, another Foxley win.

Great performance from the lads against a strong Foxley team.

1st Half: 1-2

Slow start from the colts as Foxley took the lead. The colts quickly levelled the score after a defensive mistake. The colts then took the lead a few minutes later with potsy getting on the end of a loose ball in the box.

2nd Half

Foxley quickly levelled the score within the first 15 minutes after shocking penalty decision that was well converted.

The lads managed to hold on and grab a winner late on, Griggy taking the ball around the keep and slotting it home to. 3-2 light work…

Foxley has some good lads, it’s a shame the remainder of them talk absolute sh*te…

There was more fight offers and pieces of paper handed around from Foxley than goals, maybe they should focus on the football next time🤡 🎣

Final score: 3-2 The colts.

Vale Hoppers 3-6 Congleton Town Colts ⚫️⚪️🟡

Completely different from Thursday, the lads actually looked like they wanted to be there. Every single player put in a shift for the last pre season game of the season ⚽️
