🚴‍♂️We’re excited to share that Colin Nicoll, Assistant Rector at Morrison's Academy, has been nominated for a Scottish Cycling Award for his incredible work on the SSMBCs - an event that’s only in its third year!

This nomination is a fantastic recognition of Colin’s dedication but it wouldn’t have been possible without the incredible support of our event partners, Comrie Croft and Scottish Cycling, as well as the passionate community behind the scenes. From volunteers and schools to sponsors and supporters, every one of you has helped make the SSMBCs the success it is today.

What. A. Day.

Yesterday, nearly 500 pupils from 35% of all Scottish schools descended on Comrie Croft for the third Scottish Schools' Mountain Bike Championships - and what an unforgettable event it was!

Under blue skies from start to finish, we witnessed phenomenal talent, commitment and pure passion on the trails, making this the BIGGEST U18 schools MTB event in the UK.

🎉 Huge congratulations to all the riders, and especially to our 2025 champions.

This event wouldn’t be possible without an army of legends working hard behind the scenes. Massive thanks to:

🚴‍♀️ The Day Before Race Day - MTB Rider Tips from Head of Outdoor Education, Dave Sanderson, at Morrison's Academy:

1️⃣ Hydrate early - don’t wait until race morning.
2️⃣ Eat clean, carb up - nothing new or risky.
3️⃣ Dial in your kit - lay it out, double-check it.
4️⃣ Prep your bike - clean, l**e, check everything.
5️⃣ Light spin, no hero rides - keep legs fresh.
6️⃣ Sleep early - aim for 8+ hours. Wind down, screens off.

Your race starts today. Recover smart, prep smart.

🚴‍♂️ Charlie Aldridge, world champion and absolute legend, is planning to drop by this year’s SSMBCs.

Not long back from his incredible win at the Elite UCI Cross-Country Short Track (XCC) World Cup in Les Gets, France, in August, Charlie’s had an amazing year.

The former Morrison's Academy pupil continues to inspire the next generation of riders and we couldn’t be more grateful for him taking the time to come back and cheer on our riders on the trails he grew up on.

Here’s to pushing limits and chasing dreams🔥
