U13s Rugby Presentation Day 🏆

What a fantastic way to round off the season at our U13s Presentation Day!

A big thank you to everyone who came along to celebrate the boys hard work, progress, and achievements this year. It’s been an incredible season, and we couldn’t be prouder of how far they’ve come, both on and off the pitch.

All three boys are thoroughly deserving of their awards, well done!

The team looked incredibly smart in their shirts and ties, and we are so proud of the young men they are growing into. Their commitment, teamwork, and attitude have been outstanding throughout the season.

What an incredible touring weekend for our boys, they were outstanding from start to finish 👏🏉

From Beauno Low Ropes to an action packed Paintball session (congrats to the BLUE team 😉), the boys pushed themselves, worked together, and had an absolute blast. Plenty of bruises… but even more smiles!

Sunday’s rugby saw us take on Luctonians, Bedford Blues and Newport Salop RUFC at Luctonians ground.
The boys played hard, supported each other, and finished the season on a real high. We couldn’t be prouder of them.

A huge thank you to all the coaches, volunteers and supporters who helped make this tour possible. Your time, energy and enthusiasm mean the world to the team and the club ⭐

And of course, we want to give a massive shoutout to everyone who contributed to making this weekend such a success:

What a weekend we’ve got ahead! 🎉

Our U13s are heading off on their first ever tour to Leominster and we couldn’t be more excited. We’ve got plenty planned, and a brilliant mini tournament lined up for Sunday, playing Bedford Blues Luctonians and Newport Salop RUFC

We set off with 20 players in the squad to face a strong group which contained team who we have had little success against this year, that did not deter this group who by the time the day started we were down to 18 available.
We started off strong against Bangor, making huge carries by the pack who were in that kinda mood that they were up quickly, rucking well and strong carries. Tries by Theo, Sion and Gethin J made for a good start.
Next up was Rhyl with the game finishing all square despite much time spent in their half but unable to convert to points.
Next up was Denbigh whom it's hard to tell friend or foe as they teams have squared up against each other a number of times this season and the game did not disappoint with neither team taking a step back, Sion breaking through from distance to score the only try of the match, strong defence being needed at the end to hold out a determined Denbigh.
Next up and last group game saw us loose to a strong Llangefni side who capitalise on errors and made the most of the decisions made.
This saw us into to cup semi final against the hosts and a very determined Bethesda side who pinned us back with some big tackles and capitalise on any error made by us.
Bethesda went on to beat Llangefni in the final, which left the only teams to beat us being the finalists.
The squad of Wil Browne as captain and full back with strong runs, great defence, Oscar B, Gethin L and Freddie covering wings, they snuffed out attacks and supported with good running lines, centres of Theo, Freddie and Max all showing well both in attack and defence, making big tackles and hard yards, Daniel at outhalf with Logan and Beau covering scrum half linking play together with a nice blend of pace, control and kicking shown, Gethin J at 8 who made big yards and some big hit supported by the hit men of Elliott and Xander who had an excellent flankers partnership, tackling hard but also making huge yards, Sion, Efan and Leo in the engine room and they certainly were at full throttle for so much of the tournament, Kieran, Jacob, Huw and Rufus in the front row, unfortunately Huw having to pull out early saw a rookie front row look far from being rookies with some big carries, ripping and rucks. Alfie although unable to play due to injury spent the day with the squad and helped with all warm up drill, Oscar T although unable to play was chief cheerleader.
A huge hit too saw George Clemence further enhance his credibility as a top ref with being in big demand for games at all stages and ages, thank you 👏🏻
