The Colne Cricket Academy is led by Professional cricketer Shadley Van Schalkwyk, an ECB Level 2 coach, and his team of Assistant Coaches. They have put together an action packed Academy programme for the holiday period at The Horsfield, home of Colne Cricket Club. The Academy caters for boys and girls of all abilities, whether beginners or experienced, from the age of 8 through to 16. The Academy
begins at 9am daily, and finishes at 3.30pm (extended sessions are available for those parents who can’t collect at that time). We aim to be as flexible as possible, so whether it’s just one day or weeks on end, we can cater for you. The practical bit
Cold drinks will be provided throughout the day, but please bring a packed lunch. Wear cricket kit of you have it, but if not sports kit is fine. Everyone should bring trainers or non-studded cricket shoes for use in the nets. Bring your own cricket gear if you have it, but don’t worry if you don’t- we’ll provide it. In the event of rain we will be indoors. We have changing and washing facilities so bring a towel if you want a shower at the end of the day. For those on a weeklong session, there will be written feedback from the coaches at the end of each week, and prizes up for grabs too. Everyone who completes at least a week will get an Academy certificate. The cost of the Academy is £20 per day, or £70 per week. For those who can’t get to pick their children up at 3.30pm we can look after them in our After Cricket Club until 5.15pm for an additional £5 per day, of £15 for the week. If you enjoy the Academy maybe you’ll consider joining Colne Cricket Club, which runs both Junior and Senior sides. Please see overleaf for a sample of the weekly timetable, which is aimed at being as action packed and varied as possible. For an application form please email [email protected]
