You’ve put in the training, braved the weather, swallowed the odd mouthful of lake water, and demolished those pies!
Now it’s time to show that lake who’s boss! 💪

Swim strong, smile for the cameras, and remember – if you can’t be fast, at least look fabulous in your wetsuit! 😎

🌊 Open Water Swimmers…

this is your friendly (but slightly pushy) reminder!

Thursday’s open water session is filling up fast, and bookings CLOSE at lunchtime on Wednesday.
We are unable to add on after this, so please don’t ask!

If you’re planning on joining us, don’t leave it until the last minute and then act shocked when you’ve missed out. 👀

Cold water, great company, questionable life choices and post-swim bragging rights are all included.

🥧 And while you’re sorting your booking, don’t forget to order your pies! Nothing says “elite athlete” quite like rewarding yourself with pastry after a swim.

‼️ With reports coming in of another person getting into difficulty in the water, bringing the total in the area to three incidents this week alone, please can we urge everyone to take extra care around rivers, lakes and reservoirs during the hot weather.

If you are going into the water, please don’t go alone, make sure someone knows where you are, and ideally attend a supervised open water swimming session such as our own with a safety crew Open Water Season Lake Burwain 2026, rather than swimming unsupervised.
Even for strong swimmers, conditions can change, you don’t know what’s under the surface and cold water shock is a very real thing!

Please look out for one another and stay safe. ‼️

A reminder that swimming in Burwain outside of our marshalled session, is not permitted. The CRT will consider this trespassing and may prosecute anyone doing so.

We’ve a Pendle Triathlon Club support crew headed down to volunteer and support our athletes taking part again

We had THE BEST time last year.

Any event is nothing without its organisers, Marshalls and volunteers.
it’s always a brilliant one to be part of and the atmosphere is something else!

Well, this is your sign to give it a go (without the scary bits)!

We’ve got something for everyone — whether you’re a seasoned pro, a total beginner, or just in it for the post-race snacks:

💦 Aquabike (swim + bike, no running = no problem!)
🚴‍♂️🏃‍♀️ Duathlon (run + bike for the land lovers)
🏊‍♀️🚴‍♂️🏃 Sprint Tri (the classic — but super beginner-friendly!)

💦 Aquathlon (swim + Run) for those land fish

No pressure, no judgement — just a fun, supportive atmosphere and a great way to challenge yourself (and maybe discover muscles you forgot existed).
