Dust off the driver, gather three teammates, and join us for the Colne Golf Club AM-AM Stableford Competition on Sunday 28th June 2026.

🏆 1st Prize: £400 worth of vouchers
(Enough to make everyone suddenly remember their best shots.)

On Sunday 31st May 📅, we’re turning the clock back 100+ years ⏳ for a golf day that’s equal parts skill, nostalgia… and mild confusion 🤔 when you realise your 7 iron now has a name like something from a Harry Potter spell 🪄

What’s happening:

• Texas Scramble 🤝 (teams of 4 – teamwork makes the dream work)
• Shotgun starts at 10am & 1pm ⏰
• Just £15 per person 💷
• Open to Gents, Ladies & Juniors 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 (bring your mates, show off your handicap… or at least your outfit 😅)

The twist?

🎤⛳ 𝙒𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙖 𝙬𝙖𝙮 𝙩𝙤 𝙠𝙞𝙘𝙠 𝙤𝙛𝙛 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙨𝙚𝙖𝙨𝙤𝙣!

Our start of season bash last Saturday had everything — great music, great people, and enough curry to keep the back nine powered for weeks 😅

A massive shoutout to John Prendergast, who was absolutely brilliant on the mic. He’d already agreed to perform in exchange for a few cheeky rounds of golf… but then went full legend mode and donated every penny raised (£145) to our chosen charity, Colne Open Door Centre ❤️

And let’s not forget our top-tier stewards Marcia & Ian — the curry they put on was unreal. Safe to say a few handicaps might’ve gone up the next morning after that 🍛😂

Huge thanks to everyone who came down and chipped in — proper club spirit on show 👏

Same again next year… maybe with looser trousers! 😆

🚨 BIG ANNOUNCEMENT AT COLNE GOLF CLUB 🚨

We’re delighted to confirm that Rory McIlroy will be visiting Colne Golf Club this April as part of his final preparations for the 2026 Masters.

Yes… you read that right. Colne → Augusta. Natural progression really.

Rory will be taking on our famous fairways, tackling the tricky greens, and most importantly… trying to survive the absolute brutality of our 5th hole. Word is, he’s been specifically practising for our bunkers (good luck mate).

⛳ What to expect:
• A casual practice round (handicap pending…)
• Tips for members (mainly “how to escape Colne rough”)
• A potential new course record… or complete meltdown on the back 9

We’ve also heard he’s slightly nervous about the locals watching him on the tee — understandable. Pressure’s different up here.

📅 Date: Saturday 4th April
📍 Location: The home of champions (and the occasional lost Pro V1)

Spectators welcome — just don’t ask him to fix your slice. He’s here to learn from us.
