10,320 mm hydrostatic head rating. But what does that actually mean? 💧

You’ve probably seen waterproof gear advertised with a hydrostatic rating, but what does the number actually tell you?

Hydrostatic head measures how much water pressure a material can withstand before water starts to pass through it.

Our NOORD Waterproof Socks are rated to 10,320 mm hh

That means the waterproof membrane can withstand a column of water over **10 metres high** before water penetrates the material in laboratory testing.

In other words: there’s a serious amount of water between you and wet feet. 🌧️

And because our socks use a **3-layer construction**, you get waterproof protection without having to wear a bulky, uncomfortable waterproof layer over your normal socks.
