Heights 2017s player of the tournament:

⭐️ Larson ⭐️

Larson made some brilliant saves that were crucial to the success of the team during this tournament. Noticeably his double save against newtowne colts which helped the team to secure the 3 points and the 1-0 victory.

Well done Larson keep up the good work 👏 👏

🏆 Bobby Greer Memorial Tournament🏆

On Saturday Heights 2017 traveled to bushmills to participate in the Bobby Greer memorial tournament.

Game 1: Heights vs Portstewart
In the first match for the boys they took on Portstewart which resulted in a 0-0 draw which saw some fantastic saves by our goalkeeper Larson and some great goalscoring chances for our attackers; Arthur, Jenson, Jamie and Conor.

-Final result 0-0

Game 2: Heights vs Coagh United youths

For the second match the boys played a strong Coagh Utd team, we took the lead early on with a fabulous strike by Jenson which was assisted by Jamie. With not long to go in this game Coagh Utd scored a goal from close range to level up the match.

-Final result 1-1

Game 3: Heights vs Newtowne Colts

Onto the 3rd game the Heights played Newtowne colts. Going into this match we knew it was going to be a difficult match. We started off this match very well with some good chances for Daniel and Jax. Just over halfway through the match Arthur made a fabulous tackle and charged up the pitch before hitting a great shot into the bottom corner of the net to put Heights 1-0 up. In the dying moments of the game goalkeeper Larson made a fantastic double save.

Final Result 1-0 Heights win

Game 4: Heights vs Bushmills United youths

Going into our last game in the group stage against Bushmills who were currently sitting first after having won their first 2 games convincingly we knew this would be a hard game. With defenders Freddie, Ceadach and Matthew making some good blocks and tackles to help keep a clean sheet and help us go unbeaten in the group with 6 points finishing 3rd.

Final result 0-0

Game 5: Heights vs Ballymoney

Our 5th game was a semi final of the rose bowl against Ballymoney who finished 3rd place in group D. The boys started very well in this match with some great chances by Conor and Jax. Just before halfway through Ballymoney scored a quick goal transitioning from defence to attack to score to make the game 1-0 Ballymoney. With not long left Jax made a great tackle to win possession of the ball and he dribbled past 2 players before taking a shoot which was u fortunately saved by the ballymoney goalkeeper.

Final result 1-0 Ballymoney win

Great performance from all the boys.

⚽️🏆 Antrim Rovers Tournament 🏆⚽️

Today our 2016 Heights team headed to the Antrim Rovers Tournament and, due to a mix-up with the organisers, found ourselves competing in the Red Level group against some very strong opposition.

That didn’t stop our boys from stepping onto the pitch and giving absolutely everything. Every player worked hard, and played with real heart throughout the day.

Considering the level of teams we faced, I can honestly say the boys more than held their own and should be very proud of themselves.

We came away today with things to work on, and awarded medals for our efforts.

A special mention to Max, who was awarded a trophy for his outstanding performances in goal. A well-deserved recognition for a brilliant effort between the sticks! 🧤🏆

Well done to every player today. Your attitude, commitment, and never-give-up spirit make us all proud.

⚽️ 2017 Tournament Day in Portrush ⚽️

A fantastic day of football for our 2017 team in Portrush today. We came up against advanced level teams, excellent teams, and every single one of our boys gave it their all from start to finish.

Jamie got himself on the scoresheet with a brilliant goal against Clonduff 👏⚽️

Unfortunately, our tournament run came to an end in the semi-finals, but the boys should be incredibly proud of themselves. Their effort, teamwork, determination and attitude throughout the day were outstanding.

Thank you to all the parents and supporters for your encouragement and support as always.

We’re very proud of every one of these young players today. 💙⚽️👏

Heights 2017 - Joe Hanratty cup Albion Star Football Club

A first tournament for these players as a group and they done themselves proud.
After an early start the boys played a fantastic first game in the group stage but unfortunately were on the wrong side of the scoreline to a narrow 1-0 loss to the hosts of the tournament Albion star.

Following up that good performance with a strong 1-0 against willowbank after a fantastic strike by Arthur from far out to give us the lead in the game.

After that game they played St Pats and after playing two games with a short break in between their fatigue started to show in a 3-1 defeat with Ash scoring our only goal of the match.

Following that match, Heights played our final game in the group stages against the eventual runners up of the tournament Glentoran FC where they had lots of chances to score goals in the game but the Glentoran goalkeeper had some fantastic saves and they managed to steal a goal late on in the match.

Going into the shield section of the playoffs, we played Carnmoney colts who managed to get the better of us in a 2-0 loss.

Following up from that game we played St Pats again in the 3rd and 4th place playoff where we had a very convincing win of 4-0 with goals from Arthur Ash Conor D and Jenson.

The boys played fantastic throughout the whole tournament after having an early start needing to be up in Belfast for 9am
