This is a free event, however donations to Friends of the Cancer Centre are welcomed in memory of our very own Colin Wright who lost his battle with cancer last year 💚

This is open to all NIPF members but in particular anyone thinking of or who have already entered our Rookie.

Have you started to think about what you would like to achieve in 2020?

Have you not achieved in 2019 what you would like to have done with regards to your nutrition, health and fitness?
Do you want to set in place a plan to guide you towards those goals?

We only run this program at set times each year and our current group have achieved amazing results so far and they are only just past the halfway stage, they have successfully, lost body fat, spent more time exercising around their busy schedules, reframed their mindset regarding diet and exercise and have started to put in place many successful habits which will guide them forward on their journey to a healthier and happier lifestyle.

8 Week Healthy Living Challenge.

You’ve done pretty well with Nutrition, fitness and health when you focus your mind to it.
You understand what you need to do but you’re not doing it at the minute.

What we offer is a safe, non-judgemental space to explore your relationship with nutrition, fitness and your lifestyle.

We help you find: that a healthy lifestyle is fun (happy), that you can be healthy without “punishing yourself’: and you can be confident in your life.

Using our Values of Acceptance, Commitment, Growth and Freedom and our Sleep | Eat | Train principles, you will end up with an understanding of how health, nutrition and fitness is part of your life. You will discover how to make it part of your life ‘without missing’ out.


Phase 1: Acceptance

Throughout this phase, you will work on acceptance. Accepting where your nutrition, health, fitness and mindset are currently.
You will develop a greater understanding of how your mindset can help in improving your life.
Learning the things that are holding you back from a consistent approach to a healthy lifestyle.
Creating the world in which your mindset, nutrition and fitness are part of life and not an afterthought.

Decisions over Sacrifice: learn to make decisions rather than feeling you are missing out. Sacrifice

With this in place then we can move on to Commitment

Phase 2: Commitment

Acceptance that your lifestyle and mindset can change for the better leads to the commitment phase.
Commitment is working on what is needed in the short term to realise the long term dreams.

Standards over Goals:
Create your standards, stick to them and the goals will take care of themselves.

Commitment and consistency lead to growth. By doing the important things in your life well, will help you reap the rewards you are looking for.

Phase 3: Growth

Growth is an accumulation of regular, guided work. The consistent commitment you show in one area of life can spread to others.
Being open to new ways of working is important.
Allowing yourself to try a new way of working towards the life you believe is there for you.
Allowing yourself to trust others to help you.

At Team Causeway, you get to try new ways of working in a safe environment, to help you achieve your nutrition, mindset and fitness goals.

Principles Over Performance
Stick to the Principles of Sleep, Eat Train and the performance will come. The new approach to daily habits will help you perform better in training and in life

Growth ultimately is being able to handle more. And this leads to Freedom.

Phase 4: Freedom

Success is self-determined!!!

In the Freedom phase, you get to choose what success looks like.
What to focus on to have fun with a healthy lifestyle and still make progress.
You gain an understanding of what winning looks like to you.
How to be happy enjoying movement, activity, training
You will be confident that you have the tools to make that happen and keep it continuing.

In Summary:

We will pull the pieces of your health and fitness puzzle together and create principles you can reference again and again.
We will audit your current lifestyle to see where the strengths are already, where the holes are, and where we can most productively focus our work.
We will map your personal journey to improve your health.
We will coach and guide you through every step of the program both face to face and online for the eight weeks.

Team Causeway has 10 spaces currently available on our 8 week Healthy Living Challenge, starting on Monday 6th January.

Paul and Richard have been so informative on the 'healthy living challenge for the hospice '. I have learnt so many new things over the last few weeks. I didn't appreciate how important sleep was to ensure a healthy lifestyle. I was surprised I didn't realise the effect protein had on my diet. I thought I couldn't survive without my daily rounds of toast!. I have thoroughly enjoyed learning new life skills and it has inspired me to give a bit more " me time ". Thanks to both of you for sharing your knowledge and your expertise in a very down to earth way!!!

Never thought I would say this but I look forward to going to Team Causeway every week. Paul and Richard have shown us it's not all about standing in a pool of our sweat. I have really enjoyed the opportunity over the last 8 weeks to learn how to ‘ look after me’ better. Sometimes we all need a helping hand to point us in the right direction and Richard and Paul at Team Causeway have been great mentors - educating us and supporting us in our quest to be a healthier version of ourselves. Learning more about the importance of what we eat, sleep as a cornerstone of health and how we exercise has certainly given me a renewed focus. Going forward, I get to embrace the little changes (wins), eg mindful eating and moving more and am excited about where the ‘accumulated effect’ will take me in the future.
