Fun times at the FODMBE Wild Boar chase 2025 ⭐️
It’s a fun sportive, run a bit like a time trial, really good time and potentially the fastest of the day by Ben on the longest route.
Honorary KB race teamer Sarah got involved for her first event with a race number on the front too 😄

Also fantastic to meet with Andrew from who also rode, great chatter and lovely for him to see the beautiful forests and valleys of the Forest of Dean 🍻

Entered - a little sportive to finish the MTB season. Wild Boar Chase 2025. 44 mile mtb XC route across the local Forest of Dean trails and gravel. Be good to see Andrew from sponsor racing too, for a catch up and leg stretch!

Crazy looking back now we are recovered at the race. At the time it was seriously gruelling, the schedule filled the whole day: waking up early, getting to the start line, re prepping kit, trying to get some recovery- even going to the Spa was a mission to try and get the legs supple efficiently!
But now, we’d do it again in an instant - love racing, love the mountains, the fun and the pain! Memories made 😬

And that’s Andorra Epic 2025
We completed stage 4 of 4, riding well and pushing on the hills. Sadly Karl’s bike suffered a puncture with a hole in the tyre sidewall just after we had started to descend - we were in a really good place positioned ahead of a huge pack of riders that we knew were a bit slower than us at descending! We plugged the tyre and carried on, the huge tech descent dropped us 4000ft in one go across a mix of loam, rocks, flow and super steep loose gulleys and switchbacks. We had to pick off pairs of riders as we worked down and somehow emerged ahead of the pack that we had dropped behind.
A powerful push uphill to the finish line along the cut of the river and we crossed the finish line and received our finishers medals.
We are both super proud of our achievement and took some time in the evening to relax with beers and not worry about getting up early to prep for another days gruelling riding!
We placed 32nd in the men’s open, which is 109th overall in the whole event, there was 300+ teams so that seems like a good result! We were also the fastest all British team! Speaking to other competitors, it is clear from those that have ridden other similar races that the Andorra event is considered to be one of the hardest, both in sustained and tough climbing, as well as technical and at times highly dangerous descending!
As ever a big shout out to our team sponsors and

Epic race day 3
One of the hardest days riding we have ever done. A totally relentless ‘Queens Stage’ had us ascending 3185ft straight from the start line, including some technical rocky sections as well as some outrageously steep and prolonged climbs. After getting up from town to chairlift top level, we thought we were done with going up. But then the route dipped us down a bit, then up again as we hopped valleys and chairlift destinations!
Then into some steep and technical descents, more suited to proper big travel enduro MTBs than skinny light XC bikes on semi slick tyres! These were fun, and are where we have consistently made up time
Another whack of a climb up, recording 7200ft+ in total, then a ripping descent back down to La Massana and the finish line.
Some prompt stretching and spa time and we hope for good form tomorrow for the final stage!
