New beginner spaces are now available at The Frating Pool and The Barn for June-July 2026!

Our fun and supportive 7-week programme is perfect for helping little swimmers grow in confidence and feel safe in the water. Children will learn essential lifesaving skills including floating and treading water independently, while also beginning their independent swimming journey.

Through engaging games and gentle coaching, swimmers will start developing their strokes, alongside streamlining and breathing techniques that build strong foundations for future swimming success.

A wonderful first step for children to gain confidence, independence and a lifelong love of swimming.

Six amazing weeks in the pool with a local primary school 🏊‍♂️💙

The support, encouragement and teamwork shown every single session was so special to see. Week after week the children gave their absolute best, showed real resilience, and the progress they made was incredible.

Swimming is in the PE national curriculum, with children expected to swim 25m confidently, use a range of strokes and understand vital water safety skills by the end of Year 6 — and our eldest group have now achieved every one of these milestones 👏🌊

And the best part? Our non-swimmer group are now swimmers!! 🙌 So proud of every single child and everything they achieved over these 6 weeks.

Equipping children with life-saving skills and knowledge is at the heart of everything we do.

We’re a close-knit swim community based in the Tendring / Colchester area, and we’re excited to welcome a new coach to our team.

We’re looking for someone who truly loves the water and is passionate about helping swimmers of all ages grow in confidence, from tiny beginners taking their first splash to strong, capable swimmers refining their skills.

✨ What we’re looking for:
• A genuine passion for swimming and the benefits it brings, both physically and mentally
• Reliability and consistency, we value strong relationships and familiar faces in the water
• Experience building trust with children and families
• A proven ability to help swimmers progress and thrive
• A warm, encouraging approach that makes lessons fun and memorable

Summer term is almost here! ☀️🌊

In just 13 weeks (13 lessons), your child can build essential water confidence and safety skills. From learning how to float and tread water, to gaining independence in the water, or progressing further by strengthening strokes and survival techniques — it’s the perfect way to get ready for water season.

Lessons are £14.50 per session, paid in half-term blocks (6 weeks, then 7 weeks).

We follow the STA Learn to Swim Programme, ensuring structured, high-quality progression every step of the way.
