The sea might be one of the best things you can give your midlife body. 🌊
There’s something about getting into the sea that feels like a reset and for women in midlife, that regular connection with cold water, nature and movement can be particularly powerful.
🌊 Cold water can wake you up. The initial shock encourages you to focus on your breathing and you can be nowhere else but right there in the moment.
🧠 It can help you step out of your head. Getting outside and concentrating on your breath creates a simple moment of mindfulness without even having to think about being mindful.
💪 It gets you moving. Swimming, or walking in the water like I do, encourages regular movement and reconnects you with your body.
😴 It can support your overall wellbeing. Outdoor time, movement, fresh sea air and that post dip buzz of calm can make a lovely addition to your routine.
☀️ Time in nature. It is hugely underestimated how much being outdoors, surrounded by natural light, water and fresh air can contribute to how we feel. It gives you that instant feeling of coming back to yourself.
Midlife isn’t about doing more… it’s about choosing what brings you back to life 💙
*The sea can be unpredictable. Always check conditions, tides temperatures and weather before entering, never swim alone, choose a safe and appropriate location, and know your limits.
